Big Ten Network (BTN) Summer Internship Program – Chicago, Illinois | FOX Careers
The Big Ten Network (BTN) is seeking motivated college students who are passionate about sports and the entertainment industry. The program offers an exciting opportunity to gain professional, real world work experience. Interns will participate in a variety of projects and initiatives, including Big Ten Football Media Days, while working alongside top professionals within the industry.
Eligibility Requirements:
To participate in Big Ten Network's Internship Program, you must meet the following criteria:
• Actively enrolled in an accredited college or university and pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree during the length of the program
• Current class standing of sophomore, (second year college student) or above
• 1-paged resume (PDF preferred)
• Strong academic record (minimum cumulative 3.0 GPA)
• Committed and available to work for the duration of the program in Chicago, IL
• Access to own housing and transportation to and from the assigned internship site
Areas of Placement:
BTN interns are assigned to a department that matches their skill set, work experience, and career aspirations.
For most accurate placement, we strongly encourage you to submit a cover letter with your application, which should include your top two areas of preferred placement. Be sure to explain why your background and experience make you a good fit.
• Communications: Media relations, community building, digital marketing, social media, content creation
• Engineering: Assist in the operation, maintenance, installation, and integration within the BTN facility
• Graphic Design: Create both still and motion graphic elements for the upcoming season, learning 2D motion and 3D animation
• Marketing: Assist with planning and execution of BTN Big 10k in Chicago; research, plan, and pitch ideas for a variety of network marketing initiatives
• New Media: Edit video via web-based tools and/or Adobe Premiere, update social media content, research off-season feature content ideas, assist in coverage of Media Days via social platforms
• Original Programming: Assist production team in creating long-form storytelling content; transcribing interview and logging footage, researching story ideas, joining selected interview shoots in the field
• Remote Production: Assist in the creation of graphics and videotape highlights, organize media for future broadcasts, review and log video of live events
• Studio Production: Assist in the creation of original programming projects, involvement in show staffing for summer studio programming, prepare and execute production plans involving Media Days
