FOX Sports is seeking a Manager of Strategic Partnerships to join our Communications team in Los Angeles. As our Manager of Strategic Partnerships, you will be responsible for the day-to-day operations of the FOX Sports University program and related initiatives as required. As the program's co-lead, working with another FOX Sports U-dedicated colleague, you will execute semester-long student projects with university partners and manage numerous internal and external relationships. As our new Manager, you will also help lead media outreach and creative content to amplify the program's success. Additionally, you will work closely with our FOX Sports Supports community outreach team and its partners as well as various FOX Sports brand departments (ex: production, marketing, ad sales) and sports properties (ex: NFL, MLB, MLS) to develop and fulfill projects. The FOX Sports U team also creates experiential extensions outside of the classroom, bringing students into professional learning environments.
A SNAPSHOT OF YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES
• Manage day-to-day operations of program which include but are not limited to: working with professors, rights partners, students, university's legal departments and internal FOX stakeholders
• Work closely with Communications to drive the strategic communications plan to increase program awareness; with HR to continue to develop the recruiting pipeline; and collect informational videos submitted by high-potential FOX Sports University senior candidates
• Travel on-site to all campuses during fall or spring semesters
• Work with multiple divisions across FOX Sports and rights partners to develop projects and strategic roadmap for approximately 30 schools in the program, in addition to securing executives (and talent when appropriate) to join the kickoff and final presentations- making sure that we deliver on the learning objectives of that specific class
• Manage the digital assets (web-site/Facebook/Twitter) that are critical components in the publicity side of the programs
• Work closely with our Digital and Communications teams in devising ways to enhance publicity and exposure for the program
• Work closely with vendors, partners and FOX to bring to execute ideas/concepts that come out of each project and involving the winning group from each university
WHAT YOU WILL NEED
• This position requires a bachelor's degree
• A minimum of 5 years marketing, PR, advertising or community relations experience preferred
• Experience working for a media brand/outlet or agency is beneficial
• Having prior sports experience is helpful; general sports background/interest a must
• Knowledge of college athletics and academics beneficial
• Good oral and written communication skills as well as excellent presentation skills are required
• Must be a detail-oriented and organized individual
• Must be able to communicate concisely and professionally with both internal and external partners
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office programs required
• Must have a professional demeanor and good people skills, including the ability to communicate well with differing personalities both internally and externally (includes talent and executives)
• Good problem-solving skills, overall resourcefulness and ability to multi-task in fast paced environment are essential
• Heavy travel and the ability to work evenings and weekends (occasionally) are required
