JOB DESCRIPTION
• Content Production Management: Experienced manager with the primary responsibility of managing a team of content creators – from producers and editors to shooters and talent – who create and/or optimize VOD and live streaming digital video for Fox Sports live events, studio programming, or original digital programming, from end to end.
• Production Skills: Proficient in social and digital original and optimized VOD, live streaming and emphemeral video productions across various platforms, including hands-on content creation oversite, for extensive projects and those with quick turnaround, with a high bar for quality
• Production and Distribution Strategy: Manage strategy for creation and distribution of VOD and live streaming video across a variety of FOX Sports Owned & Operated, as well as 3rd party, platforms; build strategic, effective repeatable models and video franchises with FOX Sports IP, events and talent that grow over time, can be branded and/or monetized, and can be executed at scale
• Sales Integration and Content Monetization: Collaborate closely with Sales and Sports Brand Partnerships teams on ideation of content for branded content and sponsorship campaigns, and work with various partner Content, Distribution and Sales Integration teams to execute campaigns
• Expertice on Established and Emerging Digital Platforms: Deep knowledge of what works on all digital platforms and experience working with digital platforms, including owned and operated platforms and 3rd party platforms, including Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, Instagram and Snapchat, including various tools within each that are VOD, live streaming or emphemeral in nature
• Experience with Cutting Edge Data Software: using data to help better tell stories across platforms, and working with data tools (i.e., Spreadfast, Sharablee, CrowdTangle, and other platform analytics tools) to create content, develop audiences and judge performance
• Talent Management: Oversee and manage process of the cross-platform production with talent, be it optimizing the extensions of the linear conent in the digital world, production of original talent video franchises in the digital world, integrating the best of talent's digital iniatives across linear TV, or assisting talent with our content across their own digital and social media extensions
• Cross-Functional Interpersonal Relationships: Build and maintain highly production working relationships across a variety of groups including Sales, Marketing, Programming, Digital, Linear, Studio and other show teams; ability to understand their goals, speak their terminology, and create win-win relationships with key stakeholders
• Focus on Creative, Innovative, Cut-Through Opportunities: This position will be focused on achieving ''firsts'' and ''bests,'' taking calculated chances, and breaking the mold. We are NOT hiring this person to install the status quo, but to be curious, inspire change, and build the foundation of digital success, even in cases where the format is early, before monetization and brand value can be considered, measured or achieved.
Qualifications
• Should have at least 7 years of high level digital and social production experience and/or Cable/TV/Broadcast experience, with major media brands and/or major personalities, preferably in Sports.
• Director of Video should have a comprehensive knowledge of production needs, management needs, as well as a substantial understanding of the sports content industry, overlap with tech and all respective terminology.
• Must be able to communicate effectively with talent, athletes, team managers, event staff, outside producers and all other persons involved with productions.
• Should have a command of production terminology and procedures.
• Must be knowledgeable on Mac and most Apple productions, as well as other production and data software
• Adobe Production Suite (Photoshop, Premiere), After Effects.
• Must have a basic understanding and experience in Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook and Explorer.
• Should also be able to operate production related equipment.
