Director, Production - Fox Deportes
From overseeing the day-to-day workload of the Production department, to ensuring the best possible products for air, FOX Deportes is searching for a Director of Production to join their team in Los Angeles. As the Director of Production, you work with the VP of Production in the creation, development and supervision of new products, ensuring they meet network standards, negotiating rates with third party production vendors and freelancers, and creating effective systems of communication within the department. Simply put, you will play an integral role in producing the best content for FOX Deportes.
A SNAPSHOT OF YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES
• Review department workload, workflow and work quality by conducting weekly production meetings and supervising productions
• Ensure the best possible products for air
• Communicate with other production arms of FOX Deportes, including Mexico and FOX Sports (USA)
• Assess the programming needs of the networks and any special projects required by the VP or other departments
• Assign work to the Production department and systemize workflow
• Maintain workload balance and ensure efficient and effective processes and procedures
• Negotiate rates and work closely with out-of-house production companies that produce content for the FS1 networks
• Ensure that outside vendors meet all established production standards
• Supervise the scheduling department and freelance production personnel
• Negotiate freelance rates and maintain, improve or correct performance
• Create effective systems of communication within the department, as well as with other departments
• Improve the flow of information, establish synergy and minimize errors
• Maintain vertical and horizontal communication flow
WHAT YOU WILL NEED
• College graduate and/or a minimum of 8 years experience in TV production, including live sports and live studio shows experience
• Must speak and write perfect Spanish and English
• In-depth knowledge of European, international and domestic soccer and news is required
• Must be able to effectively manage a large group of people and juggle multiple projects
• Must be a logical thinker who is detail-orientated and able to respond under stress and tight deadlines
• Must be willing to work weekends and holidays
