Digital Coordinator (Freelance) - Big Ten Network | FOX Careers
The Big Ten Network (BTN) is seeking a freelance Digital Coordinator based in Chicago. The digital coordinator will work closely with the digital media department, other internal departments at BTN and external vendors and/or schools. The job requirements include working nights and weekends to provide quality control of the Fox Sports App and BTN streaming experience. This a nine-month freelance position (September - May) offering up to 40 hours per week. This position will report to the Director of Digital Operations and will be based in Chicago, Illinois.
A SNAPSHOT OF YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES
• Provide quality control for the front-end consumer experience to insure correct ad experience and video experience is delivered during live events on BTN's video platform
• Edit and manage BTN event/game schedule for live streaming with external vendor
• Effectively communicate schedule changes to both internal departments and external vendors and/or schools
• Update home page of BTN's streaming platform to ensure promotion of correct events
• Contribute to product team for annual review of BTN's streaming platform
• Assist with fielding, answering and resolving customer service issues regarding the BTN product
WHAT YOU WILL NEED
• Position requires undergraduate degree, preferably in communications-related field
• Some experience working in sports media (digital or traditional) preferred
• Position requires extensive knowledge of and interest in Big Ten sports
• Must have superior written and verbal communication skills
• General computing skills essential along with knowledge of basic MS Office software (Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Outlook)
• Some knowledge of streaming technology is helpful, but not required
• Requires excellent organizational and operational skills, and ability to coordinate multiple demands simultaneously under deadline conditions
• Must be detail oriented, proactive and a team player
