Crewing Supervisor (Fox Sports West - Los Angeles, CA 90015)
The Crewing Supervisor is responsible for coordinating booking of full production crews for each remote production. Duties include supervising the scheduling and dispatch of crew, reviewing Fox Sports Network producer reports after each production, and providing timely feedback, critiques, disciplinary action and individual development plans for crew members. This position will work closely with the Finance Director and Payroll Department to ensure timely payroll processes.
Responsibilities
• Coordinates booking of full production crews (including ENG crews) for each event. In conjunction with the Crewing Manager, responsible for overseeing over 700 remote events.
• Works closely with Fox Sports Network regions to book crew for their events in Western territory.
• Strategically books crew to ensure a full complement of qualified staff and to minimize costs due to potential overtime scenarios.
• Understands and complies with all collective bargaining agreements governing this jurisdiction.
• Keeps track of schedules to prevent unnecessary overtime.
• Works with Union locals to ensure that competent personnel that are close to qualifying for benefits get hired.
• Maintains a working environment which promotes diversity and has 100% transparency in decision making.
• Builds and maintains relationships with venues, schools and organizations.
• Oversees the acquisition of credentials for all freelance and above-the-line crew.
• Works closely with Directors and Producers on crew requests.
• Reviews FSN producer reports after each production and/or event to follow up on any crew issues.
• Develops strong working relationship with the Operations department to understand crew requirements, including technical requirements on site.
• Responsible for providing timely feedback, critiques, disciplinary action, and individual development plans to crewmembers.
• Works closely with the Finance Director and Payroll Assistant to ensure timely processing of crew time cards and coding of expense forms. Researches and records crew costs for forecasting and budgeting purposes.
• Works closely with FACTS internet crewing and payroll database software.
Qualifications:
• This position requires a Bachelor's degree in Communications, Broadcasting, Radio/TV/Film, or equivalent work experience.
• A minimum of 4 years of experience is necessary.
• Must understand the unique nature of sports remote events and what skill set is required to be successful at each and every position.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills are needed.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and Outlook is necessary.
• Outstanding organizational and project management skills are necessary.
• Must possess strong command skills and must be able to work in a fast- paced environment.
• Knowledge of union(IATSE) policies is preferred.
• Must be able to build and maintain outstanding relationships and effectively communicate among disparate constituencies.
