We are looking for a talented Producer to join our Fox News family in our Washington Bureau. As a Producer you will turn complex news copies into conversational stories and be responsible for producing news assets and pitching story ideas for ''Fox News @ Night w/ Shannon Bream''. We are looking for a self-starter who thrives in a fast- paced environment. You are someone who has a solid understanding of news and shows fair judgement, as well as having stellar communication skills and the ability to work well on a team.
You will be offered the following shift: Daily (3:00 pm- 12:00 Midnight)
A SNAPSHOT OF YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES
• Write on-air news copy
• Edit newscast/wire copy for broadcast
• Conduct interviews for news stories
• Fact check news stories and research news topics
• Continuously follow breaking news and update source copy
• Incorporate audio into written stories
• Write original, broadcast-style scripts using information from various legitimate news sources
• Perform basic edits to raw video
• Produce blocks of content for distribution
• Screen through video for potentially litigious elements
• Pitch story ideas
WHAT YOU WILL NEED
• 3+ years with national or local major market experience, writing and producing news for radio and/or television
• Bachelor's degree, preferably in journalism
• Substantial breaking news experience in a radio newsroom and/or television control room
• Strong digital journalism skills and social media experience
• Knowledge of iNews
• Experience with Search Engine Optimization, analytics tools and editing software is a plus
• Understanding of compelling writing, great story-telling, and creative use of sound that makes a great news story
• Solid news judgment & a passion for accuracy
• Excellent writing, producing, and communication skills
• Ability to work under pressure to meet strict deadlines
• Flexibility in work schedule
