How do I hire a Web Video Producer? JOB DESCRIPTION
Fox News Channel seeks a freelance Web Video Producer to encode video clips for FoxNews.com. Ideal position for someone who is creative, has a strong desire to win, has some video production experience and is looking to gain experience in online publishing and new media platforms.
You will be offered the following shift: SATURDAYS AND SUNDAYS (3:00 pm-11:00 pm ET) or SATURDAYS AND SUNDAYS (1:00 pm-11:00 pm ET)
A SNAPSHOT OF YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES
• Work with FoxNews.com's editorial staff to identify and encode segments from Fox News Channel and Fox Business Network
• Write compelling, SEO-friendly headlines and descriptions for video clips
• Identify and crop photos and graphics for video thumbnails
• Associate video clips to relevant articles on FoxNews.com
• Stream live events on FoxNews.com and social media
• Produce content on deadline as needed
WHAT YOU WILL NEED
• 0-1 years relevant experience
• Degree preferred (Journalism/Communications major)
• Team player who can also operate independently with minimal supervision, depending on the situation
• Flexibility to work different shifts to cover 24-hour new cycle
• Knowledge of digital video production and editing tools
• Photoshop, File Transfer Protocol and HTML a plus
• Experience with web publishing tools and content management systems
• Some experience in daily breaking news environment preferred
• Demonstrated news judgment, headline and caption writing skills
• Excellent grammar and spelling skills, knowledge of AP Style preferred
