Fox Entertainment is seeking a Manager, Comedy Development, working underneath the Vice President, Comedy, to be an integral part of the team and creative process. The Manager, Comedy Development will help source IP, field pitches, and review submissions for scripted comedy television series. The Manager, Comedy Development should be a TRUE fan of comedy and enjoy attending shows and festivals to source new talent and ideas, especially someone who has their finger on the pulse of the marketplace with great talent, representative and buyer relationships across town.
A SNAPSHOT OF YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES
• Source and assess screenplays, books, articles, life rights, shows, digital concepts, sizzles, writers, comedians and short form content – as well as other forms of IP – to build out and sustain a robust comedy pipeline
• Work closely with writers and comedy development team to develop ideas and concepts for the slate
• Collate notes and contribute feedback to writers as part of the script development process
• Maintain a database of slate submissions and active development; as well as ongoing talent relations
• Liaison with other departments to help facilitate life cycle of a project from deal making to production
• Other duties as assigned by management team
WHAT YOU WILL NEED
• 2+ years of experience in scripted comedy
• Up to date knowledge of various network/studio trends
• Eagerness to grow education on comedy development and production.
• Willingness to take on additional responsibilities as projects progress in the production life-cycle
• Meticulously organized and able to multi-task
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, Outlook, Excel, and Zoom
• Self-starter with a great attitude
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Professionalism, discretion, and good judgement in all interactions with co-workers and industry professionals
• Familiarity with physical production and related schedules

• Bachelor's degree in a related field
• Understanding of the international market
• Contacts at networks and distributors
• On-set creative producing experience
