Full Time Job
We are looking for a Director of Leaves and Legal Administration to join our team and administer Leaves of Absence for employees at the Company's West Coast business units as well as reasonable accommodations requests for employees at the Company's West Coast business units.
A SNAPSHOT OF YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES
• Administering the leaves of absence process for employees of the Company's West Coast-based business units (including Fox Sports, Fox Entertainment, and Fox Cable Network Services), including engaging with employees regarding the leaves process (e.g., sending out required notices and requests; explaining Company benefits and policies to employees; procuring medical and other documentation from employees who request leaves); updating Company systems (e.g., payroll) as needed; coordinating with the Company's third-party advice-to-pay administrator (currently MetLife) as needed; etc.)
• Working with the Company's employment lawyers as needed, administering disability-related and other requested accommodations for employees of the Company's West Coast-based business units, including representing the Company in the interactive process and engaging with employees who request or need accommodations
• Supporting the Contract Administration function as needed, including preparing executive employment agreements and settlement agreements when the incumbent Contract Administrator is out of the office for extended periods (e.g., on vacation); assisting with Contract Administration projects
• Ensuring that required employment-related posters (e.g., regarding workers' comp; FMLA; minimum wage; etc.) are current and posted where needed, including in the Fox Plaza and on the Fox Studio Lot where Company employees work
• Supporting the Employment and Compliance Departments with other projects as needed
WHAT YOU WILL NEED
• At least 5 years' experience coordinating leaves of absence for a Company with at least 1000 or more regular, full-time employees
• Experience applying federal and state leave and related laws to the leave of absence process, including the FMLA , CFRA, paid family leave laws, paid sick time laws, etc
• Understanding of federal and state disability laws, including the ADA and FEHA, including how those laws apply to requests for accommodations
• Experience engaging in the interactive process with employees and other individuals who request or otherwise need accommodations to perform their job duties
• Experience drafting employment contracts and settlement agreements from provided templates (the terms of which will be negotiated by others, including the Company's Human Resources professionals, business executives, and attorneys)
• Strong customer service / interpersonal skills, including with employees and their health care providers
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including generating work product (e.g., letters, contracts) that is usually error free
• Ability to self-motivate and work independently, but also collaboratively in a team setting as needed
• College degree preferred
