FOX is currently looking for a Director to oversee the environmental, health and safety (EHS) needs of our Fox Corporation, News and Television Stations operations. Working alongside the VP of EHS to ensure all strategies are effective, you will plan, develop and manage the implementation of comprehensive EHS Management Systems and provide consultation on regulatory issues and liaisons with public agencies regarding Facility/Production Events/Television & Broadcast EHS-related matters. You will lead EHS Management System evaluation and consistently strive for improvement opportunities across the organization and ensure the timely delivery of EHS action plans. By implementing effective EHS strategies at FOX, you will play a crucial role in setting out the overall responsibility and accountability for protecting our workers and the environment.
A SNAPSHOT OF YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES
• Work collaboratively across all business units with minimal guidance and direction to build efficient and effective systems and processes that ensure compliance
• Manage, revise and develop written EHS programs
• Conduct and coordinate EHS risk assessments
• Analyze H&S statistics to determine trends and/or potential hazards
• Implement controls and action plans for risk reduction and develop specific EHS guidelines for unique locations or situations
• Allocate resources, including time, budget, and consulting manpower, to most effectively address EHS needs
• Review all production, event and broadcasting schedules to determine dates of upcoming activities, meeting with production/event personnel to understand timeline and potential risks
• Research recent industry-related compliance issues (accidents, citations, pending litigation) and recommend changes in policy/procedure, as necessary
• Review hazard assessments/risk assessments for specialized activities and locations
• Communicate with upper levels of production/event management to discuss EHS-related issues
• Research unfamiliar geographic locations and create written safety materials for productions/events and ensure they have implemented the required elements of effective EHS Programs
• Analyze and respond to safety concerns and ensure quick and appropriate resolution
• Coordinate periodic workplace inspections to ensure regulatory compliance and conformance to FOX requirements
• Respond to and investigate incidents and injuries as necessary
• Review injury investigation reports and other related documents and determine the need for corrective action, further investigation, follow-up and/or reporting to regulatory agencies
• Verify personnel have received appropriate EHS training
• Program management includes, but is not limited to: Production Safety, Fleet and Driver Safety
• Management, ENG/SNG Safety and Contractor Management
WHAT YOU WILL NEED:
• Bachelor's degree in a relevant academic area (Safety, IH, Environmental) or commensurate work experience in the field of Production, Studio Ops and/or News Broadcasting Safety
• Minimum of 10 years in a dedicated EHS Management position
• Certified Safety Professional (CSP) and/or Certified Industrial Hygiene (CIH) certifications
• ISO Standards Training (Awareness, Auditor, etc.) is highly preferred
• Relevant OSHA training courses or seminars
• Strong knowledge and understanding of ISO 45001 / 14001 and OSHA Standards is highly desirable
• Project management experience working with cross functional teams
• Must have excellent problem solving skills
• Strong working knowledge of Outlook, Microsoft Word and Excel
• Ability to prioritize and work within time and budgetary constraints
• Ability to exercise professional judgment, sometimes in difficult or stressful conditions, in assessing hazards and demanding corrections
• Must have exceptional written and verbal communication skills
• Proven continuous improvement mentality and principle understanding
• Flexibility to adapt to the changing needs and schedules of productions, events and broadcasts
• Ability to interact productively with a broad range of people and personalities
• Ability to use diplomacy and tact to resolve difficult issues
• Understanding of sensitivity of certain information and appropriate discretion in sharing it
