FOX News Audio is looking for a motivated and creative Associate Producer/Writer. As an Associate Producer/Writer, you will write compelling and conversational copy on a wide variety of news topics. You have exceptional scriptwriting skills and impeccable grammar. Your news judgment is exemplary and you have knowledge of and passion for current events and politics. You will need to work well under constant deadline pressure. The news content will be written and produced for our terrestrial syndication affiliates, affiliate website, digital audio streams and smart speaker platforms, and in addition on Fox News Headlines 24/7 platforms on SXM Radio.
As the full-time Associate Producer/Writer. You are working with news anchors and editors to craft the content and structure of a 24/7 news operation. Your ability to thrive in a fast-paced deadline-driven newsroom allows you to deliver top-quality segments/newscasts. You excel at multi-tasking and pay close attention to details. Your writing and editing skills are excellent and your editorial judgment is first-rate.
You will be assigned the following shift: Wednesday - Friday - 9PM to 5AM Saturday - Sunday from 8PM to 4AM ET
A SNAPSHOT OF YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES
Research and craft stories in a way that resonates with our listeners
Format, program, coordinate, and produce a live news program
Produce segments and reporter hits
Manage and keep clear communication with reporters, writers, editors, assignment desk, senior editors and on air anchors
Keep newscast updated by working on developing stories as the day progresses
Handle staffing issues when managers are not present
Full-time schedule will include weekend coverage
Write compelling scripts and bold leads under deadline pressure
Work with various show producers and anchors to manage live show hours and hourly updates
Coordinate elements for your stories, including top audio for compelling news content for our consumers and listeners
Stay on top of latest editorial information, and communicate changes in a fast-paced atmosphere

WHAT YOU WILL NEED
At least 2+ years of major market newsroom experience
Exceptional script writing skills, news judgment, and grammar
Solid news judgment and an outstanding grasp of politics and current events
Substantial control room and breaking news experience
Team-player attitude paired with the ability to meet quick deadlines and react to rapid news developments
Excellent comprehension of geopolitical climate and current events
Bachelor's degree in journalism or a related field of study preferred, or equivalent experience

Pursuant to state and local pay disclosure requirements, the pay range for this role, with final offer amount dependent on education, skills, experience, and location is: $59,500.00-74,500.00 annually for New York City and Westchester County, NY. This role is also eligible for various benefits, including medical/dental/vision, insurance, a 401(k) plan, paid time off, and other benefits in accordance with applicable plan documents. Benefits for Union represented employees will be in accordance with the applicable collective bargaining agreement.
