This is a Full Time Job
We are looking for a talented comedy Writer to join Kennedy. You are a storyteller. As the Writer, you use creative, compelling and funny copy to pull viewers in and make them laugh. You know the difference between an attention-grabbing headline and burying the lead. You like to dig into details, find the most interesting, humorous part about a story and make it resonate with viewers across the country.
You will be offered the following shift: MONDAYS thru THURSDAYS 1:00 pm-10:00 pm, FRIDAYS 10:00 am-6:00 pm
A SNAPSHOT OF YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES
• Research and craft stories in a humorous way that resonates with our viewers
• Create graphics and edit video via your desktop
• Communicate story information with producers and the anchor
• Be a true team player
• Pitch story ideas
• Scour the internet and social media for unique, funny stories and elements
WHAT YOU WILL NEED
• 3+ years of professional and comedy writing experience
• Demonstrated ability to write creative, edgy and funny stories
• Solid news judgment and understanding of fair and balanced comedy and journalism
• Thorough knowledge of current events, US politics, foreign policy and history
• Capable of working harder & faster during breaking news without compromising accuracy
