JOB DESCRIPTION
As a Stage Manager, you are able to anticipate production changes during live and taped programming. During the live show or taped programming the Stage Manager is fully responsible for the running of the show on stage, including production cues, set changes, placement of props and talent location. You are also responsible for overseeing overall condition of stages, ensuring that the studio is in a constant state of readiness for broadcast at all times.
A SNAPSHOT OF YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES
• Leading the fax out of the studio including cameras, tallying of cameras, audio, lighting and blocking
• Setting up the stage and making sure it is correctly positioned for assigned show
• Live management of talent during the show. Providing counts and directing talent to cameras
• Listening to directors cues and guidance
• Breaking down set and putting everything back to its appropriate space/location
WHAT YOU WILL NEED
• Three to five years professional experience in live television stage-managing.
• Must have excellent organizational and communication skills.
• Needs to work well under the pressure of a live broadcast.
• Must work well with a team.
• Should have a strong fundamental understanding of video and audio production equipment and capabilities.
• Must be able to provide accurate instructions to stage personnel during live broadcasts.
