KDVR Fox 31 / KWGN Colorado's Own is looking for a Full-time television Master Control Operator to join our team of broadcast professionals.
Responsibilities
As a Master Control Operator, you will be responsible for the monitoring and management of multiple broadcast channels. Your duties will include:
• Monitoring and scheduling incoming satellite feed recordings
• Supporting 17.5 hours of live content on multiple channels
• Preparing recorded content for air
• Broadcasting severe weather and emergency alerts
• Monitoring transmitter facilities and keeping the station logs
• Other duties as required
Qualifications
This position requires at least one year of professional experience in some form of 24x7 network monitoring center: experience at an IT data center, network operations monitoring facility, television or radio station, cable/satellite head-end, etc. Students enrolled in a relevant major with at least two years of completed academic work will also be considered. This position requires 1st, 2nd and 3rd shift work.
We are an innovative broadcast facility using state-of-the-art custom software and hardware to keep multiple channels running 24x7. Chances are even if you have worked in broadcasting you do not have experience with the systems we use in our facility. To succeed in this environment, you must be a quick learner with excellent skills using common computer platforms (Windows 7, Chrome/Firefox, etc.). You must be willing and able to adapt to a constantly changing environment while maintaining a high level of excellence with our over-the-air product. Master Control is a time-critical, mission-critical environment with many constantly changing details.
