Position Overview
As a Commercial Agent at FORMATION Talent Agency, you will own a desk within our Commercial department, representing a shared roster of actors and creators for commercial, print, voiceover, digital, and brand partnership work across the Southeast and beyond. This is a full representation role focused on the highest-leverage work of the desk: submitting talent to casting, negotiating and closing deals, developing client careers, and building the relationships that grow the department's business. Agent assistants provide clerical and scheduling support, allowing you to stay focused on submissions, negotiation, and relationships. You will work closely with the Head of Commercial to expand FORMATION's footprint in the commercial and digital space, with particular emphasis on growing our brand partnership and influencer business.
Key Responsibilities
Submissions, Negotiation & Booking
• Submit talent daily to casting directors, producers, and clients, applying strong instincts for the right talent selects on every breakdown.
• Negotiate rates, usage, exclusivity, and contract terms; close and confirm bookings across SAG-AFTRA and non-union projects.
• Manage the full booking process from first call through wrap, including avail checks, holds, and releases.
• Oversee the desk's project pipeline through completion, including payment follow-up and renewal opportunities.
• Support commercial voiceover submissions and bookings as departmental needs require.
Working with Agent Assistant Support
• Direct assistant support on appointment distribution, confirmations, casting profile upkeep, and scheduling, so the desk's operations run smoothly while you stay focused on higher-level work.
• Prepare talent for auditions and bookings with clear communication of expectations and materials.
Brand Partnerships & Digital
• Develop and pitch brand partnership and influencer deal opportunities for the digital roster.
• Research and target brands that align with talent's audience and goals.
• Negotiate creator deal terms and shepherd deals from pitch through payment.
• Coordinate with the social media lead to spotlight significant client bookings and campaign moments.
Client & Roster Development
• Welcome new commercial and digital clients to the roster and set expectations for the working relationship.
• Guide talent on career development, including positioning for the commercial and digital markets.
• Keep talent informed on submissions, brand pitches, and active negotiations.
• Scout and evaluate prospective talent; make roster recommendations to the Head of Commercial.
Department Collaboration
• Ensure bookings, contracts, and client information are maintained accurately in agency systems.
• Participate in department meetings and contribute to strategy for growing the commercial, voiceover, and digital business.
Qualifications
• 2+ years of experience at a talent, modeling, or creator agency in an agent or booking capacity, with a track record of submitting, negotiating, and closing bookings.
• Working fluency with industry casting and booking systems and agency CRM/booking software.
• Experience negotiating commercial, print, or influencer/brand deal terms, including usage and exclusivity.
• Established or developing relationships with Southeast casting directors, clients, and brand contacts.
• Knowledge of SAG-AFTRA commercial contracts and non-union market practices.
• Excellent written and verbal communication; able to represent the agency credibly with clients, buyers, and talent.
