Intern - Music Publicity and Digital Marketing

This is a Part Time Unpaid Internship

Do you love music? Do you read NOISEY, Pitchfork, Blabbermouth and other web 'zines and music publications? Do you prefer the DIY lifestyle? Would you rather work with unique indie, metal and punk bands in a casual home office setting than in a corporate environment? If so, we are looking for you!

Fly PR is based in Atwater Village in Los Angeles, although applicants can be based anywhere as this job has potential to be mostly or fully remote.

We are hiring an intern to learn about publicity, digital marketing, the music industry and running a small, independent business.

You will be helping with tour press, album releases, research, social media posting and more. Responsibilities include copious work via email, database, google drive and social media platforms, as well as handling various office duties that include putting together press lists for the bands we represent, pitching to media outlets, scheduling interviews for artists, as well as any other work project assignments given. We do our best to tailor the work to help you learn about the parts of the business you are most interested in.

Some experience in PR, indie music, or the music industry preferred but not required; however, you must have a love for and be passionate about music!

Note: Internship will be 3-4 months and will be compensated in college credit, with the opportunity to transition into an apprenticeship with mentorship under the owner of the firm. This is considered a ''work/study program'' and successful completion of the program has resulted in placements with esteemed industry leaders including Fender, Irving Azoff, Mitch Schneider and SRO (formerly MSO), NBCUniversal, Academy of Motion Pictures and more.

Time/Days Required: Tues-Thurs, from 12pm-3pm PT
