The Position:

This role requires a highly strategic HR talent who understands how simplicity in process and the right organizational culture can work magic for business success. You bring thought leadership with deep experience in collaboration, fostering creativity, and developing learning organizations. As a leader in our start-up environment, leading by doing is second nature to you. The role will have direct access to the CEO while reporting to the CFO.
Desired Skills and Capabilities:
~ A builder with breadth and depth as an experienced HR Generalist: Experience with a wide range of HR generalist responsibilities inclusive of HR services, policies and programs including benchmarking and best practices selection of internal and external resources for benefits; leading and further developing a corporate culture focused on learning and development; long-range organizational strategy/planning; team leadership, on & off boarding and much more. As the leader of our labor compliance function, you will ensure we maintain compliance with current and applicable state and federal labor laws including items such as 5500s, audits, ACA, EEO or DOL request. The best candidates will have experience in industries including; media & entertainment, tech and/or non-profits/unions, in which we operate.
~ Culture & Community Impact Partner: Partnering with executive team and team members across the organization, to develop and champion amazing efforts that bring our purpose and values to life, both internally and in the community. Lead the effort to establish and maintain the company's diversity, equity and inclusion efforts and policies. Identifying ways to embrace broader acceptance and sensitivity to all employees and not tolerate behavior that is contrary to our standards. ~ Compensation Strategist: You will maintain a relevant annual and long-term compensation strategy and structure in a way that builds transparency, ease and happiness in managing and communicating compensation.
~ Performance & Coaching Guru: Applying your deep understanding of performance & coaching, you will elevate our team well beyond annual performance reviews. Additionally, you will gain the trust and confidence of the CEO, CFO and executive team, and will be sought out by them for counseling and coaching in their own development and that of their teams.
~ Organization Designer: Considering our long-range growth plans, including our M&A efforts, you will develop concepts and strategy for our future organizational structure. You will be deeply thoughtful about how we incorporate change efforts into the design of our work. These will combine into exceptionally clever people planning outcomes.
Required Education and Experience:
15+ years' related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Master's degree in human resources or related field.
Extensive leadership experience in Human Resource Management at the executive level, including employee relations, training and development, health and welfare benefit programs, recruitment and compensation and application of legal and government compliance guidelines.
Experience with unions and organized labor a plus.
Experience in digital new media, content production or content distribution & corporate environment preferred.
Ability and experience managing people and interdepartmental communications and relationships.
Outstanding interpersonal, verbal and written communications skills required.
