Temp. Product Manager
The Intercept is looking for an experienced and forward-thinking Temp. Product Manager to join our team. The ideal candidate has experience working with editorial teams, solid knowledge of content management systems, and experience working with engineers and designers.
Oversee product workstreams and help keeps teams on track by managing multiple product timelines and release goals
Write specs for new features with support from engineering
Communicate and get cross-team buy-in on product vision and roadmaps
Identify and help resolve barriers to achieve launching successful products
Be an internal resource for team leaders and facilitate communication across internal teams regarding product roadmap, platform integrations, and the development process
Collaborate with stakeholders to define methods and metrics for identifying success and failure with a focus on continuous learning and iterative development
Other appropriately related projects/duties as assigned
Background & Qualifications:
3-5 years PM experience working on web/mobile publishing apps in either startups or established media companies
Well-rounded product experience in project management, research, design and technical collaboration with an emphasis on advocating for the user experience
Great communication skills with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
Knowledge of editorial products and newsroom priorities
Some knowledge of subscription or donation platforms a plus
