Position Description:
The Vlogger / Editor at FBE captures everything that happens during the week at our studios and beyond. This role requires a dedicated producer/editor to concept, film and edit three company vlogs each week, giving our audience an in-depth behind the scenes look at the FBE studio, staff and upcoming episodes of our shows. With a growing audience of over 28 million subscribers across our 3 channels on YouTube our resident Vlogger has the integral job of keeping our most engaged fans in the loop of all things FBE.
A standout candidate is someone who has a passion for all aspects of documentary storytelling, and is as comfortable in front of the camera as they behind. A motivated self-starter with a knack for discovering and capturing life as it happens. Ideally, this role is filled by digital native well versed in YouTube culture with ample experience vlogging for themselves on their own channel or others.
This is a full-time position reporting directly to the Community Team Supervising Producer and indirectly to the Creative Director. A staggered schedule between a Sunday through Thursday and Monday through Friday in our studios currently located in Burbank.
Job Responsibilities:
Film behind the scenes activity of the office, staff members, and video shoots at FBE.
Carryout all post-production responsibilities, including: DIT, ingesting, transcoding, creating assets and graphics, sound mixing, color correcting, assembling footage, and editing the episode.
Cover live events and on-location productions.
Handle 30 minutes of live coverage (Fan interaction on YouTube during release) for each vlog episode upload.
Document video statistics and analytics for each vlog, including: views per minute, total views, like/dislike ratio, comment activity.
Requirements:
2-3 years making digital content
High proficiency in the latest versions of Adobe Premiere, Photoshop, After Effects, and Audition CC.
Strong storytelling background in building and shaping narrative structures within content.
Awareness of YouTube and Internet culture, memes, digital vernacular and colloquialisms.
Ability to generate and maintain spreadsheets in order to track data, assets, and workflow for multiple projects.
Proficient camera knowledge as an operator.
High propensity for data and analytics to help craft creative iterations to help maximize video performance.
Must be able to show examples of past work making vlog content for self or others.
