Final Cut is a creative editorial boutique with offices in London, New York and Los Angeles. We collaborate with top directors, agencies, and artists on the most prominent commercials and music videos.
Our Los Angeles office is located in Santa Monica, and we are seeking a full time employee to fill a commercial / short form assistant editor position. This is a mid-level position for those who would like to pursue a career as an editor.
Specifications
-Hours: 9:00 AM - 7:00 PM (some overtime will be required)
-Work week: Monday - Friday (some weekends will be required)
-Reliable transportation required (must be insured)
-Must be able to start immediately, May 2019
Responsibilities
• Logging, archiving, synching, and organizing footage. Occasionally transcoding using DaVinci Resolve
• Preparing and assembling string outs, short content, and in-video graphics
• Maintaining knowledge of multiple jobs and editor preferences to assist editors and producers in daily workflow and communicate job needs between multiple parties.
• Collaborating with editors to ingest, assess, and edit footage
• Managing job related assets and documents
• Helping editors with rough mix and grade
• Prepping cuts and client deliverables for delivery to vendors for sound mix, grade, and conform
• Working with our finishing department to upload and QC final deliverables
• Occasionally troubleshooting tech support issues
The Ideal Candidate
• Proficient in Adobe Premiere Pro and Avid Media Composer.
• Is comfortable working with most video codecs, formats, timecode formats, and transcoding
• Is comfortable working in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, After Effects)
• Has some experience comping and tracking in AVID, Premiere and After Effects
• Must be very organized and capable of multitasking. This position receives requests from multiple parties, often simultaneously
• Has the ability to follow detailed instructions and complete tasks with minimal guidance
• Must be an independent self-starter who can also work and communicate well within a team
• Is comfortable working in a fast paced environment and operating with a sense of urgency
