Manager, Content Acquisition

FilmRise, an industry leading streaming company, is looking to hire an experienced Manager of Content Acquisitions. The ideal candidate will have 5 years of relevant experience in a similar role. The person in this role will report to the Senior Director of Acquisitions as well as the SVP of Acquisitions & Co-Productions.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Content Acquisitions:

- Develop licensing and content distribution partnership opportunities with representatives of TV and film catalogs, production companies, sales agents and IP owners.
-Pursue leads and shepherd prospective deals through internal pipeline
-Ensure that all deal developments are logged in company's internal tracking systems.
-Oversee workflow process of deals, from time of sourcing through analytics/projections processes, offer stage, negotiation, closing, and contract execution, while maintaining communication with licensor throughout the lifecycle of the deal
-Coordinate internally with distribution/sales, finance, business affairs, and operations/tech departments to ensure that deals progress in a prompt manner through the legal/contract stage and eventually through delivery of materials
-Act as the primary point of contact and assume responsibility for all opportunities sourced by acquisitions consultants
-Spearhead annual content renewal process, working with senior members of the department, and across departments such as operations and business affairs.

Qualifications:

-5 Years' Experience in content licensing, whether via sales or acquisitions experience
-Detail Oriented
-Must be comfortable working across deals that include a ''rubik's cube'' of rights.
-Should know how to read revenue reports and summaries, financial forecasts, be comfortable reviewing and interpreting analytical information, and able to review and redline contracts.
-Should have familiarity with international content marketplace, ideally with client relationships abroad.
-Should have complete understanding of streaming distribution rights definitions, i.e. SVOD, AVOD, FAST, etc.
-Must be comfortable representing the company and presenting our objectives independently to prospective content partners
-Must be a clear communicator, capable of outlining deals to internal stakeholders, including both senior and junior members of the Acquisitions team.
-Candidate should be a self-starter with ability to prioritize their work and meet time sensitive deadlines
-Should be have experience managing 1-2 reports.
-Familiarity with Tableau a plus
