FilmNation Entertainment is currently seeking a Director of Operations / Office Manager to be based out of its New York office. The Company is a leading producer, financier and international distributor of high-quality feature films, television series, theater, and audio/podcasts.
FilmNation has intensified its focus on content creation in recent years, bringing to life award-winning box office hits that include PROMISING YOUNG WOMAN, ARRIVAL and THE BIG SICK as well as the award-winning television show I KNOW THIS MUCH IS TRUE. The upcoming line-up of active features includes: Sean Baker's RED ROCKET, Lena Dunham's SHARP STICK, Graham Moore's THE OUTFIT, MISANTHROPE starring Shailene Woodley and THE GOOD NURSE starring Eddie Redmayne and Jessica Chastain.
The Director of Operations maintains and improves the internal day-to-day operations of the Company, and has oversight of the functioning of its offices in New York, Los Angeles, and London.
The Director will handle a full range of responsibilities including but not limited to:
• Managing IT / phone systems in collaboration with a team of IT consultants
• Overseeing general office space functions / upkeep, including liaising with building management, arranging cleaning services, and overseeing HVAC vendors
• Tracking supplies and equipment needs, and identifying office cost savings opportunities
• Onboarding new hires, including orientation and introduction to staff / Company systems, and arranging / preparing needed equipment and applications
• Offboarding exiting staff / managing transition out of the Company
• Overseeing security systems for the Company
• Work closely with the Accounting department to receive, code and process all office related invoices timely and accurately
• Over-seeing Company travel relationships / arranging limited corporate travel
• Planning and scheduling of occasional corporate retreats
• The position also offers the (voluntary) opportunity to engage in the Company's creative process, including the reading of scripts and sharing script feedback in Company meetings
Qualifications:
• We seek enthusiastic, detail-oriented, personable self-starters with strong verbal/written communication skills
• Eagerness to engage with a broad assortment of Company executives on a regular basis to help create a positive, collaborative working culture across all departments
• Clear, demonstrated ability to problem-solve, manage complex projects and multi-task
• Experience working closely with IT vendors and consultants, including a general understanding of the key components of IT systems required to operate a small company
• A strong knowledge of Excel and other Microsoft office programs
Preference will be given to candidates with at minimum 3-5 years operational office experience and a familiarity with IT/technology. Salary is reflective of the small office size, but the position has reasonable hours and offers a collegial, collaborative company culture.
