The Film Musicians Secondary Markets Fund (''Fund'') is a 501(c)(6) nonprofit organization based in Van Nuys, CA. Its mission is to support the production music community by assisting producers in issuing residuals to musicians who performed a film or television score under an AFM collective bargaining agreement.

The IT Systems Administrator (SA) is responsible for the effective provisioning, installation, configuration, operation, and maintenance of cloud platforms, software, and related cloud infrastructure. They own technical research and development to enable continuing innovation and security within the infrastructure, and they ensure that cloud environments, operating systems, software systems, and related procedures adhere to organizational standards.
The SA owns technical issues in the Initiation and Planning phases of our standard project management process. These activities include the definition of project goals, technical requirements, security requirements, implementation strategy, and benefits of implementation. They support the operations staff in executing, testing, and rolling out solutions.
Technical Responsibilities: Management of Azure Cloud platforms, IT security protocols, virtual machines, and Microsoft 365 including email and other Office 365 tenant applications. User technical support is also required as needed.
Responsibilities:
Maintain and create virtual resources in the Microsoft Azure cloud platform. This includes the ability to configure and maintain Azure cloud platform services, network and domain services, settings, directories, cloud storage, and virtual machines in accordance with security standards and project & operational requirements.
Manage an ongoing IT security program to ensure the security and integrity of the Fund's internal-facing and external-facing systems.
Implement and enforce IT security protocols to protect sensitive data and intellectual property.
Regularly apply security patches and upgrades to server and network equipment and keep administrative tools and utilities up to date. Discuss, evaluate, and add new services, as necessary.
Perform system monitoring, verifying the integrity and availability of all network hardware, server resources, software applications, and key processes. Review and verify completion of scheduled jobs such as backups.
Develop and maintain documentation for the installation, configuration, support and recovery of all active systems and software.
Research and recommend innovative, and where possible, automated approaches for system administration tasks. Identify approaches that leverage our resources and provide economies of scale.
Implement and enforce IT security protocols to protect sensitive data and intellectual property.
Verify daily cloud backups, ensuring all required file storage, virtual servers and other Microsoft 365 applications are successfully backed up to our Microsoft 365 tenant backup solution. Perform file recovery requests from Azure backups.
Create, change, delete and synchronize user accounts, mailboxes, distribution lists, and permissions in Microsoft Azure and Office 365 domain and email systems.
Provide user support through our helpdesk system. Investigate, troubleshoot and resolve user issues. If needed, escalate internally to the appropriate IT/ASD staff or to the product vendor's support for resolution.
Repair or recover from server or software application failures. Coordinate and communicate with impacted groups or departments.
Perform periodic performance reporting to support disk partitions as required.
Provide administrative support for mission-critical FMSMF systems.
Other responsibilities as assigned by manager.
Requirements:
Bachelor's (4-year) degree, with a technical major, such as network/system administration or computer science or equivalent relevant work experience.
Four years of system administration experience with current Azure, Office 365, AWS and ability to work with other cloud-based software and platforms.
Experience managing exchange on the Office 365 cloud platform. This includes user and mailbox management, email security tracing, edge transport mail rule management and backup and restore of mailboxes.
General familiarity and experience with cloud applications and platforms.
General familiarity and experience with IT systems security standards and protocols.
Ability to independently manage and work a complexed project to completion with only minimal guidance from the IT Director or stake holders once project decisions have been made.

The ability to interpret and or discuss technical information and concepts with others who may not be familiar with technical jargon or concepts.

Responsibilities occasionally require working evenings and weekends, sometimes with little or no advance notice should a technical issue arise.
