ALLOCATIONS ASSOCIATE (Data entry position)
DESCRIPTION
Film Musicians Secondary Markets Fund seeks a professional to join our Participant Services Operations Department.
An excellent opportunity for a detail-oriented professional comfortable with heavy data entry. The Fund is a dynamic 501(c)(6) not-for-profit organization providing support to film musicians and the entertainment community worldwide by ensuring the collection, processing, and distribution of residuals generated by their talent and services. The Fund's Allocations staff ensures that these residuals are allocated and applied to corresponding film/TV titles, markets, and ultimately, musicians.
Please note: This is a desk job that requires heavy data entry. This position is not for someone seeking film or music production work experience.
SUMMARY OF DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The Allocations Associate will work closely with departmental staff in all aspects of daily Allocations operations, including but not limited to: heavy data entry of numbers, basic numeric calculations, and related research (online and internal).
• Prepare cover sheets (including deposit date and employer information) for employer contributions
• Data entry of payment information in AS400 (i.e., deposit date, remittance date, check #, quarterly period, etc.)
• Work with Manager to ensure contribution amounts entered in AS400 reconcile with Accounting Department records
• Organize and prepare Allocations back-up documentation for data entry in AS400; the Fund receives back-up documentation in various formats, including but not limited to Excel and paper remittances
• Identify and verify payment information entered in AS400; complete data entry of all related check details (i.e., film/TV titles, contribution amounts, markets reported, etc.)
• Perform research using various internal and online sources (i.e., FTS, IMDB.com, Epguides.com, TV.com, etc.)
• Identify New Films/TV shows and provide supporting documentation to Director and Manager
• Review Allocations data entry in AS400; identify error(s), if any, on already allocated checks; provide back-up documentation to Director and Manager for adjustment
• Assist with research to locate New Films/TV session contracts; research includes but is not limited to online references, Local 47 database, Local 802 website, and other Local headquarters of AFM
• Verify, organize, and prepare session contracts
• Data entry of session contracts in AS400 for New Films/TV shows paying into the Fund during Fiscal Year
• Identify new musicians reported on session contracts and provide supporting documentation
• Assist with the research and resolution of musician submitted film/TV title omissions inquiries, film/TV title misallocation adjustments, and other departmental projects as needed
• Scan and file departmental documents
REQUIREMENTS
• 2 years post high school education or equivalent work experience
• Knowledge of the entertainment industry and a strong interest in film, TV, and music
• Proficient in heavy data entry with high accuracy
• Proficient in basic numeric calculations
• Proficient in MS Excel and Word
• Proficient in online research
• Must be well organized, detail oriented, and a self-starter
• Critical thinking and problem solving skills helpful
• Must have integrity, honesty and an ethical mentality
• Availability for overtime opportunities on an ''as needed'' basis
