Film 45 is an EMMY award-winning production company creating non-scripted documentaries and branded content for film, television, and digital platforms. We're looking for a strong, in-house Production Accountant (full-time Staff) to become an integral part of our Accounting / Finance team in our Westside office. This person will play a key role in the daily accounting needs for several of our productions and should see this opportunity as an amazing learning experience with room for growth. It's an ideal position for someone with a couple years of entertainment Production Accountant experience who's looking to be part of a well built and ever growing team. We currently have 30+ active projects (docu-series / unscripted / commercials) with Amazon, HBO, Showtime, Netflix, Hulu and are searching for a confident self-starter with interest in the industry.
Major Duties and Responsibilities:
• Liaison closely with Production Managers, Line Producers, Post Supervisors, SVP Finance and payroll company to ensure our productions run smoothly, on budget, and within company policies.
• Take ownership of each project or show assigned to you, be excited to learn and have a positive attitude.
• Analyze Cost Reports for comparison to budget, understand the operations of each production and guide your projects through our financial workflows. Manage ETC's/EFC's to reflect current situation & contribute to weekly production meetings with the management team on each of your productions.
• Prepare monthly financial statements for several shows / content across different types of companies.
• Interact and build relationships with studio counterparts, coordinate Cash Flow and A/R billing, prepare required financial reporting throughout life of project and for final delivery.
• Act as the first level of finance support for Line Producers, playing a key role in cost management.
• Review and approve weekly digital production payroll timecards and backup for freelancers across multiple projects and states (Media Services and Cast & Crew).
• Work closely with payroll company to ensure accurate and timely paychecks. Some knowledge of labor laws, payroll taxes and procedures, guild, union and non-union rules is helpful.
• Ensure timely and accurate payment of wire requests, expense reports and invoices with help from the team's Accounting Clerks.
• Review and approve credit card transaction reports. Audit receipt backup and coding, push through Tallie, our credit card reconciliation program.
• Reconcile bank accounts, petty cash and PEX accounts, credit card statements and intercompany loan accounts.
• Organize all incoming digital paperwork - invoices, payroll edits, wire confirmations, approvals, etc to our online paperless filing system (Google Drive).
• Check Accuracy of W-9s provided by vendors and ensure vendor information is up to date in the accounting system.
• Review 1099 Audits for each of your projects and make corrections as needed. Assist in annual 1099 filing.
• Support SVP Finance and EVP Production with a multitude of diverse tasks and reports.
• Work with Lead Production Accountant to constantly brainstorm and improve processes and efficiencies.
• Attention to detail, accuracy, and follow-through skills are of the highest importance. Provide quick and accurate analysis.
• Absorb everything that comes across your desk, ask questions, continue to expand production knowledge.

* Be extremely proficient in Excel, Google Sheets.
Bachelors degree in Accounting preferred.
Minimum 2-3 years prior accounting experience, preferably in an entertainment production environment.
Knowledge of Quickbooks Online, SAP, MediaWeb, Cast & Crew, Movie Magic or other production accounting software is extremely helpful. Previous production accounting experience in either non-scripted or commercials is an advantage.
