POSITION OVERVIEW: Fenway Sports Management (FSM) is seeking an Associate, Strategy & Growth to join its FSG Growth (FSGG) team.
FSGG's work spans across all business units, with a focus on initiatives that will drive growth at Fenway Sports Group (FSG) and across its portfolio companies, which include FSM, the Boston Red Sox, FSG Real Estate, Roush Fenway Racing, New England Sports Network and Liverpool Football Club. It is a lean team that works closely with a broad group of senior executives to develop organic and inorganic strategic growth opportunities at FSG and its subsidiaries.
The Associate will be key member of the team responsible for sourcing, evaluating, and executing new business and partnership opportunities, as well as strategic acquisitions, investments, and joint ventures. This includes upfront idea generation, development of financial models, lead valuation analysis and active participation in deal structuring. The team is seeking an intellectually-curious, creative thinker who possesses excellent analytical and communication skills. The ideal candidate is hard-working and proactive, with a background in finance, management consulting, or corporate strategy/development.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Assist in the Creation / Identification of Potential Strategic Growth Opportunities
• Assist executive leadership on all matters related to FSG's corporate development and strategic growth.
• Monitor trends and transactions across the sports, media and entertainment ecosystem, interpret data and perform analysis, and proactively identify potential competitive opportunities/threats facing FSG and its entities.
• Generate inbound and outbound deal flow and opportunities to grow FSG.
• Collaborate with senior management and outside advisors to identify and assess potential M&A opportunities that support and accelerate our strategic priorities.
• Participate in meetings and contribute to building, maintaining and strengthening partner relationships throughout the life of a transaction and beyond.
• Analyze Potential Strategic Growth Opportunities, Make Recommendations & Assist with Execution
• Conduct market assessments, size new opportunities (related to current and new lines of business), and evaluate potential strategic initiatives, partners and transactions.
• Build detailed financial and operating models and develop various financial analyses.
• Prepare and present analysis, conclusions and recommendations to senior leadership.
• Assist with transaction execution, including:
• developing valuation analyses;
• conducting financial modeling, valuation, comparable/relative value analyses and market-specific analysis;
• coordinating due diligence efforts with internal and external counterparties;
• coordinating information flow across cross-functional deal team; and
• assisting with deal negotiations.

• Assist with overall FSGG goals and strategy related initiatives.
• Provide support as needed across all projects / initiatives within the FSGG and executive leadership team.
CHARACTERISTICS/QUALIFICATIONS:
• Bachelor's Degree required
• 3 years of experience at an investment bank, private equity firm, management consulting firm or in a corporate strategy/development role at a large company
• Excellent financial modeling, valuation/transaction analyses and quantitative analysis skills

• Ability to work effectively across functions / units and independently in a rapidly changing business environment
• Strong interpersonal skills and outbound mentality who can successfully build beneficial relationships
• Ability to work with confidential and sensitive information in a discrete manner
