In this role, the Analyst, Insights & Analytics will be responsible for supporting commercial strategies for FSM's sponsorship, consulting and business development groups with leading insights and data analysis. This includes working across partnership sales and account management, consulting, special events and marketing to develop, grow, and maximize all partnerships and other revenue-generating business initiatives. The ideal candidate has a passion for collecting and communicating data, its application in identifying potential prospects, helping to develop data driven recommendations for brands, and the ability to present findings in client facing presentations.
RESPONSIBILITIES-Responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:
• Assist with FSM's data analytics functions including reporting, market insight research, industry developments, and social media measurement
• Proactively conduct and analyze industry research to identify new categories and prospects for partnership & consulting opportunities–including financial reviews, competitive benchmark analysis, consumer trends/habits, and market research activities
• Foster FSM's relationships with third-party vendors such as Nielsen, SponsorUnited, Scarborough, YouGov, MVPIndex, and the CRM provider while serving as the power user on each platform to ensure that all departments get the necessary insights when requested
• Aid in various CRM tasks including report/dashboard creation, data input and verification, and basic admin responsibilities
• Formulate strategy and activation recommendations for brands that are grounded in data
• Work with groups within FSM and the broader Fenway Sports Group portfolio to improve efficiencies and communication across the organization through analytical support
• Develop best practice recommendations based on the latest trends from across the entertainment industry that will help move business forward
• Analyze organizational business development opportunities, such as new business ventures, major sponsorship assets, naming rights engagements, special events, consulting relationships and other business functions that generate revenue for FSM by using data driven insights & analytics
• Collaborate with internal account teams and clients; create ROI tools for specific consulting clients to help evaluate and measure KPI's for existing or prospective sponsorships & activations
Required Skills
/Knowledge:
• 1 year of work in business analytics or of market research
• Experience conducting primary research projects both using quantitative and qualitative methodologies
• Experience mining & analyzing syndicated research resources - i.e. GWI, YouGov, Nielsen, Scarborough, MVPIndex, etc.
• Must be a team player with a passion for understanding consumer behavior
• Strong verbal and written communications skills with ability to convert complex findings and large data sets into insightful, concise, and easily digestible reports and presentations
• Able to visualize and tell compelling stories using a range of data sources
• Exceptional analytical, quantitative, creative problem-solving and critical thinking skills
• Experience conducting research & analyzing consumer data across multiple sources to identify trends
• Excellent communication/presentation skills
• Strong MS Office skills with ability to learn new tools quickly with minimal formal training
