Job Summary:
Fat Beats is an independent music wholesaler specializing in music distribution in all formats. We are seeking an experienced Production Manager to work with our Production & Distribution labels. As the Production Manager, you will work closely with label managers, artist, pressing plants, & marketing and promotion to coordinate Production & Distribution projects. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of success as a Production Manager or similar in the entertainment industry.
The Production Manager oversees submission, manufacturing and delivery of a growing catalog of music under Fat Beats Distribution. In addition, the PM is responsible for organizing assets (audio, artwork, and metadata), assuring they meet necessary specifications and requirements for physical manufacturing.
Responsibilities
Manage P&D labels and projects from start to finish
Coordinate the physical production process of vinyl, CD, cassette from beginning to end product
Serve as the point of contact for distributed artists and labels addressing their day to day needs
Schedule and maintain an extensive list of multifaceted media projects with various moving parts
Preflight art and audio files for large scale printing and rectify errors when necessary
Liaise with designers, creative and management regarding print specifications and packaging requirement
Submit order forms for each project at its respective manufacturer and monitor completion status
Review of invoices and print proofs
Coordinate with label personnel and support organizations on all relevant production issues
Source printers and pressing plants for best quality and pricing
Coordinate and check received shipments to warehouse
Keep projects on schedule and update team regularly
Track possible represses of current and past products so that best sellers are in stock
Coordinate with marketing and sales to drive new title launches and feature releases
Oversee warehouse operations with Warehouse Manager
Perform P&L analyses to ensure all ventures have a clear path to success
Qualifications
Understands anatomy of vinyl records, CD and tapes.
Comprehensive knowledge of the physical/digital music supply chain
Knowledge of print and packaging design
Familiarity with various audio formats
A bachelor's degree in Music Business, communications or related.
Previous experience as a Product Manager or in a similar managerial role
Proven track record of managing a successful product from inception to launch
Strong analytical and problem solving skills
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Superb organization skills
Expert in Microsoft Office Software (ie. word excel, etc.)
Strong will to have a career in the Music Industry
Bonus: experience with Sage 100 ERP or similar
Bonus: experience with Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator
