Interns will work closely with our team to learn the ins and outs of scripted television development and production. By tracking submissions and researching current programming and development, interns will come to understand what goes into developing compelling scripted content. Interns will also participate in project-based learning as they create grids, pitch decks, and provide script coverage, mirroring the development process.
Interns will also participate in mentorship-based learning targeted towards their desired career path, whether in development, production, or representation. Past Fabel interns have pivoted into additional internships and/or careers at CAA, UTA, WME, HBO, Fox, and many more.
Our interns assist with day-to-day operations of the company and provide input towards potential development. Tasks include but are not limited to:
Reading incoming material (scripts, books, graphic novels, podcasts, etc) and writing coverage
Updating project and tracking grids for potential writers, directors, and talent
Researching and pitching potential project ideas
Preparing additional development materials
Participating in bi-weekly lectures that cover different topics and areas of the industry as well as Q&A's with writers and executives outside of the company
This internship is unpaid and for academic credit only. Start and end dates and internship hours are flexible to meet the needs and requirements of the student and university, but the program will run roughly from the beginning of June to the back half of August 2024. Interns will be expected to work in-office 2 days/week plus an additional half day for a weekly team meeting.
This internship will be done in-person at our Hollywood offices, interns will need to be based in or around the Los Angeles area to participate.
