Part Time Job
The Director of Finance reports to the Executive Director and provides vital information and analysis to ensure financial integrity. The Director of Finance ensures that financial statements are produced in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles. Provides oversight for all aspects of the organization's accounting and financial reporting functions in support of the strategic plan. Establishes finance organizational strategies by evaluating trends, establishing critical measurements, and acts as an advisor.

Primary Duties:
Serve as internal consultant to the Executive Director, Board of Directors, Operations Director, Development Director, Human Resources Manager, and other key stakeholders on all financial matters, making recommendations and suggesting proactive strategies to keep EM on track.
Provide oversight for and manage all budgets, forecasts and internal financial plans and processes.
Provide oversight for and manage all audits, financial aid best practices, and tuition collections.
Ability to move across and reconcile multiple businesses and revenue streams inside the organization from post production studio to training academy to all levels of fundraising both corporate and individual.
Support accounting, general ledger and operations functions, ensuring that systems are in place to guarantee timeliness and accuracy
Drive best financial practices within EM by publicizing standard operating procedures, keeping the senior leadership team, Board, and staff up to date on EM's financial status and by generally serving as a point of reference for all growth plans and projects within EM.
Explore and suggest how EM can invest its reserves and resources to generate passive income.
Review short and long-term goals in light of existing and projected financial resources available.
Create data-based long and short-term goals, budgets, and forecasts.
Establish annual priorities and benchmarks and conduct regular reporting, measuring projections against actual performance.
Generate weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual reports as needed to monitor, evaluate and optimize cash-flow and liquidity.
Build relationships with banks, donors, vendors, outside consultants and others as needed to keep close to EM's major expenditures and sources of revenue.
Ensure that EM meets critical regulatory and legal compliance benchmarks
Manage and monitor the shared services of Benefits to include vendor
Supervises the part-time Full Charge Bookkeeper.

Required Knowledge & Skills
Financial management and investment strategies for nonprofit organization.
Generally accepted accounting practices, principles and methods.
Computerized or cloud-based accounting systems.
Leadership principles and effective supervisory skills.
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or related field from an accredited college or university.
Five to seven years of accounting experience, preferably in media, entertainment or corporate with knowledge of nonprofit being a plus.
Computer proficiency in Apple and Windows operating system and MS Office software including Word and Excel. Ability to operate internet applications and email as well as external vendors' and proprietary software programs.
Knowledge of Quick Books Premier preferred
Advanced knowledge of spreadsheet and database applications, data query tools, word processing software, electronic mail and internet search tools
Experience in the management of an employee benefits program is helpful
Obtain and confirm bids, negotiates agreements with providers and monitors compliance and implementation of said
agreements.
