Position:
Exactly Right Media is looking for an attorney to join our business and legal affairs team in Los Angeles. The main focus of this role is to negotiate and draft various kinds of podcast agreements, manage day-to-day production legal and risk management including clearances, copyright and trademark filing, guest releases, independent contractor agreements, and licenses.
This person will work closely with our creative, marketing, production and finance departments and will be part of a fast-growing diverse team. The ideal candidate will have experience negotiating and drafting agreements with little oversight, managing a heavy and time sensitive workload and is able to comfortably explain legal and business issues to non-lawyers.
Must be comfortable in a start-up environment and be able to adapt to and contribute to evolving business structures and deal models.
Qualifications:
Experience in podcasting a plus.
Minimum 5 years experience in entertainment law (television, film, digital industries) and working with talent and creators and their agents and representatives.
Strong drafting skills and attention to detail.
Well-versed in contract, copyright and trademark law, talent agreements, rights acquisitions, licensing, distribution deals.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, ability to work under pressure.
Must be currently licensed to practice law in the State of California.
Work Environment:
Standard office environment, currently working remote.
May be required to work weekend and/or non-standard hours
Minimal travel may be required.

Salary commensurate with experience.
