Job Title: Panelist/Content Creator - Los Ángeles NOW (Spanish-Language News Discussion Show)
About the Show:
Los Ángeles NOW is a bold, community-centered Spanish-language news discussion show that brings together headlines, community stories, and dynamic conversation. Rooted in the values of faith, family, and hard work, the 3-hour daily program offers fresh takes on local and national issues, often driven by real voices from the NOW Local News App.
Job Summary:
We're looking for a sharp, insightful Panelist/Content Creator to join our Los Ángeles NOW team. This person should be deeply connected to Los Angeles' Latino community and passionate about current events, with the confidence to share editorial viewpoints during live panel discussions. Beyond on-air participation, this role is hands-on: creating digital content, pitching stories, and helping shape the show's voice across platforms. This role is perfect for someone who loves local news and isn't afraid to speak up. If you're ready to help redefine what local news looks like-on-air and online-Los Ángeles NOW wants to hear from you.
Responsibilities:
• Participate daily in live panel discussions on Los Ángeles NOW, offering informed perspectives on news, culture, and community topics.
• Bring editorial insight to each conversation, with a willingness to express thoughtful and respectful opinions.
• Pitch stories and segment ideas that are timely, relevant, and resonate with local Spanish-speaking audiences.
• Write and edit scripts or segment outlines as needed, in Spanish. (*Sometimes in English as well)
• Edit video clips for broadcast and digital distribution.
• Create and post content for Estrella's social media channels and the NOW Local News App.
• Engage with the community, building relationships and sourcing authentic stories from real people across Los Angeles.
• Collaborate with hosts, producers, and other panelists to deliver a show that's engaging, informative, and real.
• Attend local community events as needed.
• Use the NOW Local News App to solicit and incorporate videos and stories that elevate the community's voice.
• Willing to voice and represent different political perspectives in discussions of national and local news relevant to Spanish-speaking audiences in Los Angeles
Qualifications:
• Prior experience in news, talk shows, podcasting, or opinion media preferred.
• Strong Spanish-language communication skills, both spoken and written.
• Confident and authentic on-camera presence.
• Informed, articulate, and comfortable sharing editorial viewpoints respectfully.
• Familiarity with video editing tools (e.g., Adobe Premiere) is a plus.
• Active on social media and experienced in audience engagement.
• Deep interest in Los Angeles' Latino communities and issues.
• Ability to work in a collaborative, fast-moving team environment.
• Experience producing short-form video or social-first content
• Fluent in Spanish (spoken and written) required; conversational English preferred
Eligibility Requirements:
• Must be willing to work in Burbank, CA.
• Must have legal authorization to work in the United States.
• Must be willing to work overtime on short notice.
• Must be 18 years or older
To Apply:
Along with your resume and any relevant work samples, please submit two short cell phone videos in Spanish:
1. In the first video, give a neutral and unbiased view of a political or controversial topic affecting the Latino community in Los Angeles.
2. In the second video, share your personal, honest opinion on that same topic.
These videos don't need to be fancy-just you on camera using your phone is perfect. We want to see your range, from remaining neutral and composed…to expressing authentic, opinionated commentary.
