Search for Acquisition & Distribution Executive jobs in Los Angeles-CA
EST Studios is looking to recruit a new sales & acquisitions executive to help acquire new titles for international sales. The candidate should have a minimum of 2 years of content licensing experience, accustomed with the film market cycle, familiar with reviewing contract terms, and in addition to acquisition, support EST's sales and distribution outreach. EST Studios is a LA-based sales agency that focuses on premium Asian film and TV projects. This job is a fully remote position with occasional travel requirements during film market season.
Responsibilities
Acquisition
o Scout for new titles to add to EST slate for international sales representation
- Titles should have commercial appeal and/or with renowned festival nominations
o Review potential films and provide quick coverage
o Producer outreach - communicate and negotiate with producers on sales agency agreement terms
- Collaborate with legal to draft SAA
- Coordinate with producers on material delivery to material vendor
Sales
o Cold pitch via 1on1 outreach or email campaigns to sell EST films to foreign distributors
o Draft, review, and negotiate most advantageous distribution agreement terms with distributors
o Provide screening links & address any distribution inquiries
o Collaborate with producers and external material delivery vendor to ensure film assets are delivered in a timely manner and fulfills distributors' contractual obligation
Marketing & PR
o Download latest film market attendance report and update internal contact database
o Update social media and website with new titles and release information
o Provide new announcement information for PR team to draft PR article
Distribution
o Coordinate with producers & aggregator partner to deliver materials for platform
o Sign distribution and partnership agreements with producers/production companies/aggregator partners
o Track and follow up on pitch platforms & rev share platforms' accounting statements
Operations
o Monthly review with delivery vendor to review producer & distributor delivery progress and timeline
o During film market seasons, coordinate with distributors/producers/potential partners on film market meeting schedule
o Compile and track film market budget for approval
o Coordinate with outside vendors to ensure successful film market (booth rental, equipment rental, brochure/poster design & print)
o Upload trailer videos on EST Vimeo account, and full feature video files on Indee.TV
o Recruit and train interns to assist with sales & acquisition related responsibilities
o Track current and ongoing sales revenue & material delivery expense
o Coordinate with finance to issue invoice, and ensure incoming/outgoing invoices are paid on-time
Please note this position is a contract position, no visa sponsorship is provided.
Candidate requirement:
- Qualified candidates should attach resume and 2 professional references
- Must have at least 2+ year of experience working with an international film distribution company or sales agency
- Must be able to communicate professionally in English (verbal and written, need to be able to review and negotiate English contract), and can fluently converse in at least one other Asian foreign language (Mandarin/Korean/Japanese a plus)
- Candidate does not have to be based in US, but must be able to accommodate LA meeting hours (regular meeting hours are 9:30am PST and 3pm PST)
- Must have valid passport for travel
- Previous work experience with startup and fundraising knowledge is a plus
- Previous experience working at film markets (Cannes, EFM, AFM) is a plus
- Previous experience with business affairs and contracting is a huge plus
