ESPN's Marketing team is a centralized group of strategic brand marketers, leading the overall campaign & media strategy, spending, budgeting, and fan engagement, across brands, events, platforms and shows. They work collectively to enhance promotion for critical league partners, inclusive of the NFL, NBA, MLB, NHL, CFB, NCAA, F1, wNBA, PGA, as well as vital priorities such as ESPN+, among many others. Additionally, they are responsible for fostering a culture that embraces new audience growth with strategies that engage youth, women, Black, Hispanic, and other multicultural audiences throughout the ESPN ecosystem.
The Sports Marketing Coordinator supports the creative execution of sport-specific properties (most likely College Football and NBA). This position provides support in the development and execution of these properties' marketing strategies and multi-platform promotional plans across ESPN in addition to providing overall support for the Sports Marketing team. The Marketing Coordinator will be a key liaison between the marketing team, creative agencies, and the broader ESPN cross-functional team. This role is based in New York, New York. The position reports to the Sports Marketing Director.
Responsibilities:
• Contributes to the development of sport-specific marketing strategies and promotional plans, in addition to driving campaign execution.
• Executes deliverables on time and within budget, both performance marketing and creative, across sports properties to enhance our ESPN DTC business
• Supports the relationship and production timelines with the internal creative teams.
• Ensures accuracy and excellence of all work done internally and by creative agencies on the properties
• Provides input on creative development and execution of marketing materials.
• Collaborates with Media on the scheduling and delivery of on and off channel assets.
• Develops relationships with key personnel in the marketing department and other business units.
• Drives day-to-day correspondence with internal and external creative partners including relaying creative feedback and management of full timelines.
• May support tracking of the budget for properties
• Acquires an understanding of the programming schedules and sponsor requirements to ensure all marketing materials and deliverables are accurate.
Required Qualifications
• Growing creative instincts and experience working with internal and external creative partners.
• Effective time management and organizational skills – ability to prioritize and multi-task on a high-profile, high-volume portfolio.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment. Holds self and others accountable for creative and executional excellence.
• Fundamental written and verbal communication skills (copywriting experience a plus).
• Strong work ethic. Must be self-motivated, detail oriented and take initiative to get the job done.
• Embraces and passionate about social media. Knowledge and understanding of all social media platforms.
• Knowledge of and interest in the evolving media landscape and media consumption habits (experience working with streaming platforms a plus).
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint). Adobe Suite experience desired.
Preferred Qualifications
• Passionate sports fan with extensive knowledge of specific sports (conferences, teams, players/coaches) required. (Ideally NBA and College Football)
• A healthy appreciation of the role sports plays in popular culture, especially music.
Required Education
• Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business or a related field or equivalent work experience.

The hiring range for this position in New York, NY is $55,800.00 to $74,800.00 per year based on a 40-hour work week. The amount of hours scheduled per week may vary based on business needs. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate's geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
