About the Role & Team:
This position supports ESPN UK, FC, and ESPN F1 by creating and managing content, analysing metrics, and enhancing brand presence. You will lead ESPN F1 strategy, collaborate with editorial teams, cover live events, and produce high-quality posts to attract and retain a sports-focused audience.
What You Will Do:
• Support the Social Media Manager in overseeing the UK social team
• Lead content creation, curation, and scheduling for ESPN UK, FC, and F1 across social platforms
• Develop and implement social media strategies
• Assist with content creation and scheduling for ESPN Africa as needed
• Align content with overall brand goals and tailor it for each platform's audience
• Create engaging content (graphics, videos, captions) for Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, X, and YouTube Shorts
• Stay current with social media trends and implement guidelines
• Monitor social media channels for trending topics to boost engagement
• Track and analyse performance metrics to gauge content success, with a focus on F1
• Work with Disney/ESPN sales teams and third-party agencies on social initiatives
• Collaborate with the US ESPN Digital and Social teams to coordinate activities
• Be available for weekend shifts to cover live events and engage with the audience during peak sports hours
• Provide live coverage of sporting events, especially F1, including real-time updates and post-event analysis
• Attend key sports events, creating live content and engaging fans
Required Qualifications & Skills:
• Experience in social media management, including a leadership role
• Passion for sports, particularly football, Formula 1, MMA, and other major sports
• Proficient in social media platforms and tools (Facebook, X, Instagram, TikTok, YouTube)
• Excellent writing, editing, and interpersonal skills
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
• Strong analytical skills and experience with social media analytics tools
• Creative mindset with attention to design and detail
• Competency with graphic design tools such as Adobe Photoshop
