Senior Manager, Social Media (Audience Expansion)

Position Summary:
As the Senior Manager of Social Media at ESPN, you will lead our Audience Expansion strategy, driving engagement and reach across diverse platforms. This key role involves developing and executing dynamic social media strategies, analyzing audience behavior, optimizing content, exploring innovative platforms, and fostering strategic partnerships. If you're a seasoned social media professional with a passion for sports and a proven track record of expanding audience reach, we invite you to be a driving force in shaping the future of sports entertainment. This position will report into the Senior Director, Social Media.
This position may be based in CT (preferred), CA or NY.
Responsibilities:
• Formulate and execute a comprehensive social media strategy to expand ESPN's audience reach and engagement.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align social media efforts with broader business objectives.
• Conduct in-depth analysis of audience demographics, behavior, and trends to identify growth opportunities.
• Utilize data-driven insights to optimize content and engagement strategies.
• Oversee the creation and curation of compelling social media content tailored to diverse audience segments.
• Implement A/B testing and performance tracking to refine content strategies.
• Stay abreast of emerging trends and features on major social media platforms to capitalize on new opportunities.
• Lead experimentation with innovative formats and approaches to enhance audience expansion.
• Cultivate strategic partnerships with influencers, organizations, and other entities to extend ESPN's social media reach.
• Negotiate and manage collaborations to ensure alignment with brand values and goals.
• Develop and oversee social media campaigns that align with key events, promotions, and marketing initiatives.
• Monitor and analyze campaign performance, adjusting strategies as needed to maximize impact.
Qualifications:
• Minimum of 7 years of experience in Social Media or a related industry
• Minimum of 2 years of experience managing teams of people
• Minimum of 3 years of experience using video editing software (e.g. Final Cut, Premiere)
• Minimum of 3 years of experience using photo editing software (e.g. Photoshop, InDesign)
• Proven experience in social media management, with a focus on sports content and a strong understanding of women's sports landscape.
• Demonstrated success in driving audience growth and engagement through strategic social media initiatives.
• In-depth knowledge of various social media platforms, analytics tools, and emerging trends in digital media.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with internal teams and external partners.
• Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and mentor a team.
• A passion for promoting diversity and inclusion in sports
Preferred Qualifications:
• Minimum of 5 years of experience managing large-scale social media accounts
• Minimum of 2+ years of experience articulating social strategy in large meeting settings
Required Education:
• High School Diploma or equivalent
Preferred Education:
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Journalism, Communications, Online/Multimedia or related field

The hiring range for this position in California is $92,742.00 to $124,410.00 per year and in New York is $97,170.00 to $130,350.00 per year. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate's geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
