Recurring Remote Operations Producer
Location: Remote
The Recurring Remote Operations Producer is responsible for managing the operational, technical, and logistical aspects of remote sports television productions. This position involves overseeing both event preparation and on-site operations, ensuring that departmental standards are maintained, and events are executed accurately, on time, and within budget. The role includes traveling to events, managing on-site staff, and ensuring technical standards are met.
Responsibilities:
• Oversee all technical and operational aspects of assigned remote events
• Provide guidance and training to Remote Operations staff, including coordinators and technical crew
• Ensure adherence to workplace conduct and safety policies for on-site personnel
• Manage technical and financial planning timelines
• Create event-specific paperwork such as surveys, tech books, and post-event reports
• Troubleshoot complex technical and personnel issues on-site, liaising with support teams when needed
• Oversee crew management, including time-entry approval, travel, catering, and performance management
• Stay up to date on broadcast standards and new technologies
• Attend industry events as assigned
• Assist with the development and implementation of new technologies for remote events
Required Qualifications:
• Regular travel to remote events, including possible international locations
• Ability to work nights, weekends, and holidays, especially during major sports events
• Extended travel during the NBA Playoffs and Summer League (May, June, July)
• Strong knowledge of broadcast production models, signal flow, scalability, and transmission
• Familiarity with technical equipment requirements for remote broadcasts
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Outlook, Word, and online collaboration tools like Smartsheets
• Strong communication and conflict resolution skills
Preferred Qualifications:
• 7+ years of experience in technical/operational planning, on-site management, and procurement
• Knowledge of technical software tools relevant to broadcast planning
• Strong understanding of comms workflow in broadcast plan execution
• Established relationships with broadcast industry vendors and clients
Education Requirements:
• High School Diploma required
• Bachelor’s Degree or Technical School Degree in Communications, Broadcasting, or a related field preferred
Salary Range:
$86,229 to $89,960 per year, depending on geographic location, experience, and internal equity.
