Photo Editor (Part Time)
Job Summary:
The Photo Tech/Editor, ESPN Images works within ESPN Communications and works directly with our talented team of photographers and coordinators for assignments by selecting, editing, color-correcting, retouching and delivering creative dynamic images to help communicate, illustrate, and document the culture of ESPN.
Types of assignments range from corporate headshots, studio shooting, sporting events, portraiture, stock photography and high-conceptual shoots.
Success in this position will require excellent technology and photographic knowledge. Strong organizational and communication skills are a must. The ability to work within deadline and provide exemplary customer service skills will ensure success. This position also requires being very detail oriented and organized.
Responsibilities:
Responsibilities
• Quality control of images by ensuring the highest compositional and technical standards are achieved
• Communicates, supports, and consults with clients for assignments and photo selection
• Translates production requirements, creative direction and layouts into final image
• Ensures the final image meets all quality control requirements prior to completion. This includes, focus, image is calibrated and balanced color, meets tonal curve and layout requirements, consistency, etc
• Retouching and correction of portraits is key
• Performs related duties, special projects as required while meeting deadlines
• Assists ESPN Images coordinators in planning, production, and post-production of photographic projects as needed
• Archiving of historical materials
• Aid in creating IPTC captioning templates for all photographers
Basic Qualifications:
Basic Qualifications
• Strong knowledge of Post-production workflow, editing, metadata entry
• Strong communication and organizational skills and creative problem-solving abilities required
• Photography experience required
• Photoshop, Lightroom and Photomechanic experience and advanced computer skills
• Background in social media posting and creation
• Ability to work within tight deadlines required
• Must have proven abilities in digital workflow, color-correction and IPTC meta data entry
• Ability to quickly learn and use new technology as it becomes available
• Bachelor's Degree
