Part Time Unpaid Internship
Job Summary:
ESPN Front-End Engineering develops and builds all of the pages and applications used across ESPN.com and our global edition sites. This includes working on scoreboards, indices, articles and game following experiences while maintaining the overall architecture of the site.
Responsibilities:
As a Software Engineer – Intern focused on front-end engineering at ESPN, you will help build and maintain web applications that serve and excite sports fans across the globe. You will work with modern web technologies such as JavaScript, HTML5, and CSS3 to deliver scalable, elegant solutions for new features and core site architecture.
• Build and maintain new features with the front-end engineering team
• Help test and validate espn.com product functionality
• Work with senior engineers to implement features following established best practices
• Partner with other engineering teams to deliver best solutions
Basic Qualifications:
• Real world exposure to front-end web development
• Working knowledge of JavaScript
• Must be self-motivated, have a strong team orientation, learn quickly and possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Required Education
Junior, Senior, Graduate Level student or recent graduate (within 6 months of graduating) pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Management Information Systems or related field.

Internship Eligibility
• Must be enrolled in a college/university taking at least one class in the semester/quarter (spring/fall) prior to participation in the internship program OR currently participating in a Disney College Program or Disney Professional Internship. May 2018 graduates are still eligible.
• Must be at least 18 years of age
• Must not have completed one year of continual employment on a Disney internship or program.
• Must possess unrestricted work authorization
Program Dates: The length of this internship is 10 weeks, and the approximate dates are September 10 – November 17, 2018. Interns will work 40 hours per week and must be fully available throughout the internship including nights, weekends and holidays.
Housing: A limited amount of housing assistance may be available for those who qualify.
Transportation: Limited transportation assistance to and from work may be available for those who qualify.
