Job Summary:
ESPN CreativeWorks is looking for a Designer II, that is a strong, progressive graphic designer, to work on and prioritize multiple projects of different disciplines simultaneously (i.e. Print, Identity, Style Guides, Social Executions, Real-Time, Digital, Installations, Product Design and Internal/External Presentations). Supports the Design team in their objective to create and maintain a consistent brand vision and maintain property design consistency. Position works closely with members of ESPN Sales, Fan Marketing, External clients, Sponsors and all members of CreativeWorks, including project managers, designers, writers, producers and creative directors.
Responsibilities:
• Participates in executing parts of ESPN's brand strategies and marketing, positioning and competitive strategies for assigned projects.
• Plays a key role in translating approved corporate brand and marketing strategies and toolkits
• into marketing, advertising and promotional materials for assigned projects.
• Assists in translating and developing toolkit assets from internal and external partners or agencies.
• Clearly and concisely communicates the creative services POV, overall design philosophy and execution on all owned projects.
• Effectively communicates and presents design concepts to Senior Designer / Assoc. Director of Design and in some cases the Marketing teams.
Basic Qualifications:
• BA, BFA or BS in Graphic/Digital Design
• 4-6 years of design experience with at least three years within the marketing/advertising/sports industry.
• Solid skills in Adobe Creative Suite: InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop.
• Self-starter. Multi-task oriented, Good Collaborator
• Solid ability to apply and perform graphic design skills such as: drawing/sketching, typography, concept ideation.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Collaborative team player with talent for influencing large or small, cross-functional teams.
• Good oral and written communication skills
• Ability to self-start, self-manage, and meet deadlines
• Good knowledge of current trends, technology, digital media, entertainment industry and sports.
• Ability to partner with other departments (Business Development, Sales, Technical)
• to complete projects on time.
• Be creative and innovate, with the ability to incorporate best practices and develop new concepts.
• Enjoy a fast-paced environment that provides regular challenges.
• Understanding of the ESPN brand and a passion for sports.
Required Education
• BA, BFA or BS in Graphic/Digital Design
