Job Summary:
ESPN is actively seeking a Business Analyst with exceptional Digital Ad Sales analytical skills to oversee Agency, Advertiser, Sport and Product revenue trend reporting, Video/Display/Social Capacity and Pricing analysis, and new Product/Site changes impact analysis. The Business Analyst will build strong relationships with multiple departments within and outside of Ad Sales: Sales Planning, Ad Operations, Ad Production, Marketing, Product, and Technology, among others.
The primary focus of this role is to proactively identify positive and negative Revenue and Inventory trends on a Medium, Site, Advertiser, Campaign, Agency, and Sales Team level to inform strategy and maximize Digital Ad Sales Revenue. This person will also work closely with management to provide executive level reporting on key metrics on both a reoccurring and ad hoc basis.
Responsibilities:
• Analytics: Manage daily/weekly/monthly analytics reporting to enable the business to operate transparently and efficiently while capitalizing on product insights to track revenue success/opportunities.
• Reporting: Manage recurring and ad hoc reports to internal stakeholders and communicate insights in a clear and concise manner.
• Communication: Present findings to all appropriate audiences on a consistent basis via email, verbal, in-person, and other communication methods as deemed appropriate.
Basic Qualifications:
• Digital Advertising Experience: Minimum of three years of ad industry experience, with specific focus on Digital inventory/revenue forecasting/reporting and yield management.
• Sales Experience: Must have an understanding of ad sales process from pitch to pay with specific focus on alternative sales models: sponsorship, impression-based, flat-fee.
• Knowledgeable in Ad Operations: A thorough understanding of Digital ad serving across Display, Video, Audio, and Social inventory types.
• Superior Analytical Skills: The ability to analyze performance data to drive strategy; experience manipulating large data sets, interpreting data trends and reporting results in a clear and effective manner via Excel and/or Business Intelligence tools.
• Strong organizational skills and ability to multi-task; detailed oriented; demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects at once.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Experience with DoubleClick, Google AdX, AppNexus, BlueKai (or other DMP's), FreeWheel, WideOrbit, Raw Voice, Adobe Analytics, Business Intelligence Tools, ad-serving systems.
• Experience with Tableau or other data visualization software.
• Prior experience working in Digital Revenue Management/Inventory and Pricing/Sales Planning/Media Buying at a premium publisher/network/agency.

• Bachelor's Degree
Preferred Education
• Master's Degree in an applicable field
