Job Summary:
The Analyst, Digital Insights will participate in the collection, analysis and communication of audience data for ESPN's digital media properties and social presence. The Analyst is charged with providing accurate, actionable information to a range of internal stakeholders, including the Content, Marketing, Product, Programming, Communications and Finance teams, among others. The Analyst will be naturally curious, proactive, and detail-oriented, with the ability to handle multiple tasks at once. The individual will have experience with media research, ideally with a background in in both television and digital research.
Responsibilities:
• Utilize a variety of first-party and syndicated resources (including Adobe Analytics, Localytics, comScore, Chartbeat, Nielsen Digital Content Ratings) to develop and maintain reports that evaluate performance across ESPN's digital media platforms, with keen focus on web and app properties that live across computers, smartphones, tablets and over-the-top devices.
• Utilize a variety of first-party and syndicated resources (Facebook Analytics, Twitter Analytics, Instagram Analytics, YouTube Insights, Snap Analytics, Shareablee, NetBase, Spredfast) to develop and maintain reports that evaluate ESPN's social media performance.
• Coordinate and execute ad-hoc projects that inform both the strategic and tactical initiatives of internal stakeholders working in the digital and social space.
• Represent ESPN Research & Insights at cross-departmental strategy sessions and express a strong, thoughtful, data-based point of view.
• Basic understanding of digital businesses, including social media, online video and mobile technology.
• Cultivate knowledge base of media and consumer behavioral trends and potential impact on ESPN digital business, including connected technology, social media and digital video.
Basic Qualifications:
• 1 years experience in media research or digital analytics preferred. Internships and college project work accepted.
• Powerful written and verbal communication skills
• Very strong analytical ability, critical thinking, and proactive problem solving
• Knowledge of media math concepts and data analysis.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, demanding environment is essential
Preferred Qualifications:
• Basic understanding of disparate methodologies of digital audience measurement (panel, server, hybrid)
• Basic proficiency with digital media and social media research and analytics tools.
• Exposure to software like SPSS, Tableau, Domo, R, SQL
Required Education
• Bachelor's Degree in Communications, Advertising, Marketing, Information Science or related field
