SOCIAL MEDIA MANAGER JOB DESCRIPTION
The Company
A state of disorder, or Entropy, has created a new opportunity for forward thinking companies in the media landscape. So don't call us a ''podcast company,'' rather say that we are building an audio first IP incubator and multi-platform studio for a new era in storytelling, because our goal is to turn all of our narrative non-fiction and scripted podcasts into documentaries, feature films, or scripted television series. We are backed by Raven Capital, a NYC based private equity firm that has deployed almost $300MM in strategic investments across film, television and many other complementary media businesses.
The Team
We're currently assembling a team that will build and launch new original shows as part of a diverse slate of genres and show formats, starting with narrative non-fiction then expanding into talk shows and scripted series. We are a startup building a core network of team members as well as reliable freelancers globally!
The Role
Entropy is looking for a Social Media Manager in our New York office. This will be our first hire responsible for building out our social media presence from scratch, working with our leadership to shape our voice across social channels for Entropy and our initial slate of podcasts. As part of a small team, you will have a pivotal role in helping us develop the social strategy to ourselves to the world, and be responsible for creating a community around our brand and shows. There will also be opportunities to work with other Raven teams and properties to support some of their already-existing social channels-offering plenty of personal and professional room for growth.
Responsibilities:
-Implement a launch strategy for Entropy's social media channels, with a focus on Instagram, Twitter, & TikTok
-Create multiple posts weekly to promote our first podcast launch
-Grow our community by engaging with followers in a way that is authentic to our mission, while adapting it to the voice of each platform
-Working with the rest of our (small) team for creative and positioning insight, you'll develop strategies that will launch our slate of shows coming out in 2023, introducing them to our new & existing audience to create the most impact
-Collaborate with our internal teams to pitch and execute campaigns with sponsors and partners
-Assisting with servicing social channels for other Raven partners, when needed
Qualifications:
-A wide range of podcasts you're passionate about and knowledge about the industry
-An excitement about our mission
-A quick-witted, sometimes cheeky sense of humor but know how and when to be serious
-A self-starter who has experience with or is ready to jump into a scrappy team with plenty of room for growth
-A fondness for collaboration and shares + values diverse perspectives
-Proficiency in creative/copy writing and a strong understanding of spelling & grammar
-Deep personal/professional expertise in social publishing tools, reports, and metrics
-Curiosity about and invested interest in keeping up with the latest trends in the digital & podcasting spaces
