The Team
We're currently assembling a team that will build and launch new original shows as part of a diverse slate of genres and show formats, starting with narrative non-fiction then expanding into talk shows and scripted series. We are a startup building a core network of team members as well as reliable freelancers globally!
The Role
Entropy is looking for a curious, and self-motivated Administrative Assistant. This person will support Entropy's CEO, as well as aid in creative development work. This person will be responsible for handling administrative tasks such as scheduling, answering emails, and managing company databases. The candidate should also have strong interpersonal skills and be able to successfully, and clearly, communicate and liaise with entertainment industry professionals at all levels. In addition to admin, the candidate will have a meaningful creative role - providing notes on scripts and treatments, assisting with pitching materials, etc. We are looking for someone who is genuinely curious and passionate about storytelling and the podcast/audio world. This position is LA based and reports directly to the CEO.
This is an opportunity to get in on the ground floor of an audio startup with highly credentialed investors and strong ties to Hollywood.
Responsibilities
-Manage our CEO's calendar and to-do list, exercising considerable discretion and judgment regarding how to prioritize and effectively use his time.
-Support our CEO leading up to and during meetings: scheduling, drafting agendas and presentation materials, taking detailed notes, assigning action items, tracking deadlines and following up to ensure completion.
-Arrange and assist with booking in person meetings and international and domestic travel.
-Conducting research on projects as needed.
-Reading, reviewing, and copyediting new material.
-Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
-Experience as either an Executive Assistant, Assistant or Coordinator in the entertainment industry required.
-Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience required.
-Great communication skills
-Attention to detail and good organizational skills
-Strong interest in storytelling and the podcast/audio world
-Naturally curious and willing to expand his/her/their fields of interest
-A creative problem solver
-Able to work in a rapidly changing environment, and switch gears on a moment's notice
-Ability to effectively juggle and prioritize multiple tasks and deadlines
-Positive, proactive and able to consistently exercise good judgment
-High degree of professionalism, integrity, and confidentiality
-Proficiency with G-suite, MS Office, Zoom, etc.
-Familiarity with podcasting or radio is a plus
Location
Los Angeles, part-time remote
Compensation
$55-80k, depending on experience
