Job Responsibilities, Duties and Essential Job Functions:
The Project Manager (PM) will report to the Director of Rigging and Training and the Lead Project Manager. Project Managers are responsible for the successful delivery and execution of their projects, from initiation through closeout, with a focus on scope, schedule, budget, people, risk, and communication.
Candidate should have a strong entertainment management background, be highly motivated, maintain a very positive teamwork and collaborative style and have working knowledge of the project life-cycle. This position requires effective communication skills, ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously and the ability to anticipate and respond quickly to project demands. The ideal candidate is a highly motivated and organized individual at mid-career level willing to learn and work as part of a team.
Project Management Duties
PM is responsible for managing the execution of each assigned project, sometimes multiple projects concurrently. Project duties include:
• Develop and document the Project Plan with input from internal and client stakeholders and maintain/execute against it throughout a project's lifecycle, including scope, schedule, budget, responsibility matrix, risk assessment, quality/testing requirements, shipping and integration plans, and deliverables lists
• Maintain strong client relationships and communicate regularly through reports, RFI's and update meetings, as well as deliverable submittals and milestone reviews
• Demonstrate and foster strong internal communication through meetings, digital platforms (slack, bluebeam) and regular dialogue with project team members. Work closely with designers and technical managers to ensure success in managing outsource vendors and contractors
• Lead and document internal department and external project meetings
• Participate in group strategy sessions, process-improvement committees, and department initiatives
Logistics Coordination Duties
The Training and Rigging PM is an integral part of all department operations. In addition to project managing design/build projects for the department this position is responsible for supporting all activities of the department including but not limited to the following:
• Be the primary point of contact for communication with Cruise Ship Clients
• Track Expenses, per project and for department team members
• Assist with quoting orders for rigging and aerialist equipment
• Receive all ''pass-thru'' orders for rigging and aerialist equipment
• Re-package equipment for shipment to the client
• Report status of projects and orders to the accounting department for invoicing purposes
• Book Travel
Skills & Qualities:
o 3+ years of experience as a project manager or similar management/leadership role, ideally on entertainment-based projects
o Experience with the principles and procedures of professional entertainment project management, and strong working knowledge of the project life-cycle
o Strong client-management and customer service skills
o Good oral, written, organizational and interpersonal communication skills
o Proficiency in/ability to learn: PC and Windows. Office 365 including Outlook, Word, Excel and Power Point. MS Project. Asana, Slack, Bluebeam, Box/Dropbox
o Ability to accommodate occasional evening and/or weekend work, due to the nature of our clients, particularly when department members are traveling
o Organized and detail-oriented, excels in a high-paced work environment. Adaptable and calm under pressure. Expert problem solver
o Ability to lift up to 50lbs
• Optional/Helpful Skills & Qualities:
o Educational background in theater, engineering, communications, or business management preferred
o OSHA 10 / 30 Certifications
o CAPM or PMP certification; working knowledge of PMI methodologies
o Working knowledge of entertainment industry, clients, vendors, etc, as well as theatrical and mechanical terminology
Position: Full-Time, Salaried
Travel and Conditions: This position will be primarily located in the office of EPS headquarters in Las Vegas. Travel opportunities may arise but travel is not a core component of this position
