Law Clerk - Entertainment Law
We are looking for a law school student in their 2nd or 3rd year or a graduating law student who will enter a judicial clerkship or graduate program for a part time position law clerk at a boutique Entertainment Law Firm.
Successful candidates will have excellent drafting, writing and analytical skills, accurate and strong attention to detail, high level of organization, strong verbal and interpersonal skills, and ability to manage multiple projects. This position will specifically focus on assisting the partner in transactions such as distribution, production, talent and finance deals.
Additionally, the successful candidate will handle administrative duties which include document and email tracking, assisting in the organization of the partner's busy schedule, client intake, posting on the firm's social media and website, drafting opinion articles, and producing webinars.
Requirements:
The successful candidate will have the following qualifications:
• Must be: a 2nd/3rd year law school student pursuing a J.D.; a current LL.M. student, or a recent graduate with an J.D. or LL.M. (International students and graduates are welcome to apply so long as they have valid work authorization for at least a year);
• Classes in Entertainment/Production Business & Legal Affairs, Media Law, and/or Digital & Technology Commercial Transactions is strongly preferred;
• Previous contract drafting and administration experience required;
• Previous experience in Entertainment Law not required, but preferred;
• Excellent communication, drafting and organizational skills required;
• Must be comfortable emailing and contacting clients as well be able to confidently assist and participate in client meetings.
• The ability to work proactively, independently and reliably under tight timeframes in a fast-paced environment, with an ability to stay calm under pressure;
• A high level of organization, detail orientation and ability to time-manage across multiple deadlines;
• Proficiency in MS Office Suite and Google Suite. Must be extremely knowledgeable with Outlook email/calendar/contacts in addition to Word (proficient with redlining) and Excel;
• Social media marketing skills preferred;
• Curious and willing to tackle matters outside their area of expertise.
Position will temporarily be remote, but must commit to at least 2 days in the office starting in the late summer subject to CDC guidelines and protocols.
1 year commitment required.
