Public Relations Firm seeks WINTER 2020-2021 Interns

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Assisting with writing media alerts and pitches
Sample trafficking
List curating
Editor Research
Coordinating press and celebrity mailings
Assisting with organizing and merchandising the showroom
Updating and compiling press and celebrity contact lists
Supporting social media efforts including Twitter and Facebook
Developing press kits and media clippings
Sourcing event spaces, caterers, sponsors, etc.
Assisting in some administration work
Qualifications:
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
Reliable, dependable and organized
Solid computer skills
Available to work a minimum of 2 days (9a.m. - 6p.m.) weekly from home
Previous internship experience or current communications/marketing/pr major is a plus
School credit recommended
Compensation:
Non-paid internship
Overall Job Description: The social media intern at SocialWants will be instrumental in increasing our social media presence and getting visibility for our brand. The intern will also assist in client social media projects.
Responsibilities include the following (there will be 2 interns working on these tasks):
Create and maintain a content editorial calendar
Aggregate and/or create article and video content
Communicate exciting social media news (internal and external)
Schedule video interviews with businesses/providers
Distribute content to various content websites
Monitor and engage on various social media platforms
Put together bi-monthly newsletter in GetResponse
Contact Social Media leads about our services
Internet research to find and engage with social media communications
Update website, as needed
Track website statistics
Perform above tasks and others for client projects
Job Description:
- Develop and implement creative ways to increase brands awareness and drive traffic to website, Facebook, blog and Twitter.
- Update blog, Twitter, Facebook and other Social Media Platforms
- Develop and implement -out-of-the-box' promotional campaigns and contests
- Drafting and editing press releases as necessary
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Must be extremely organized and prioritize well to meet deadlines
- Strong computer skills with working knowledge of Word & Excel
- Strong Internet research skills
- Maintain a positive attitude and have a customer service approach at all times
- Pursuing degree in Communications, Marketing, Public Relations, or related field; recent grads welcome
