The goal of the internship with DJ Flexx and WPGC 95.5 in Washington, DC is to offer the student access to the inner workings of a major market morning radio show. The student will learn the skills it takes to produce such a show, including content development, audio production, phone screening, writing for website and social media, scheduling, guest booking, on site promotions and event planning. The goal is for the student to leave the internship with a clear understanding of producing an afternoon radio program.
The intern's daily tasks will include show preparation, story selection, studio preparation, show index writing, social media and web writing, image editing and posting, answering phones, interacting with listeners on social media and in person, preparing bits, audio editing and participating in on-air discussions.
Qualifications:
This is a paid internship. You must be actively enrolled in an accredited college to participate in this program.
