Part Time Job
Remote Broadcast Engineer
This is a part time Engineering opening at one of the most successful and active clusters of radios stations in the country. Entercom Los Angeles is: 106.7 KROQ, K-EARTH 101, 97.1 AMP Radio, KNX 1070 News Radio, 94.7 The WAVE, 93.1 JACK-FM, CHANNEL Q and ROQ of the 80s.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:
• Install and test audio equipment at remote broadcast venues
• Operate remote equipment as needed
• Supervise remote broadcasts and ensure good quality on-air products
• Assist on-air talent as they interact with equipment
• Pre-field remote broadcast locations
• Help plan remote broadcasts at both large and small venues
• Assist Engineering in maintaining and coordinating remote equipment usage
• Assist Engineering with the installation of Internet and ISDN services at venues
• Pre-test connectivity at venues using both IP audio and ISDN codec equipment
Qualifications:
• Good working knowledge of audio and remote broadcast equipment and systems
• California Driver's License and the availability of a reliable personal vehicle
• Good communication skills and the ability to deal effectively with talent and other engineers
• Punctuality and the ability to plan ahead and be where needed on time
• Ability to be available when needed to do remotes both on regular schedules and at variable times and dates
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand; walk; sit; use hands and/or fingers to handle, or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; talk and hear. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. A portion of the work day will be spent using a computer.
